Denver

Colorado’s capital, Denver is known as the ‘Mile High City’, poised 5,280 feet (1,609 meters) above sea level. It’s surrounded by the snowcapped Rocky Mountains and rolling High Plains.

Denver is a cultural place, with some great museums including Native American art at the Denver Art Museum, Cheyenne legends at the History Museum, dinosaurs at the Museum of Nature & Science, tours of the US Mint, the Buffalo Bill Museum and a brew tour at Coors.

Old West history in particular is highlighted in Denver and neighboring Golden, Colorado’s first capital.
