Stromma dk basically does all the tours and they are beyond top notch. The bus was amazing and our tour guide and driver....the best.
We also did a canal tour with Stromma dk and Nicolena was such an amazing person and tour guide. I would definitely recommend this tour and all stromma dk tours in Denmark.
We were quite happy with this tour.
The tours of the Kronborg and Frederiksborg castles themselves were interesting and very good.
However, the problems our tour group had was getting back to the bus. At Kronborg, the walk to the bus was a long one and several of us made a wrong turn along the path and had to race across a huge field in a panic to get back to the bus. One of my friends almost got left behind because of this. At Frederiksborg, the bus left us off near the entrance but parked somewhere else. Luckily, as we were walking out, one of my friends saw the tour guide and we followed her. My other friend followed some other people from our tour group and walked in circles before finding the bus.
My suggestion would be to have the tour group meet the tour guide in the castle courtyards and then everyone walks back with her/him. It would save confusion on how to get back to the bus.
This was a really good tour but for the distance and castles we had to cover, it should have started about 8 a.m. not 10 - we were lilterally running to finish the last castle, no time to really look and admire the grandeur of these extraordinary buildings. A good idea to organise lunch to be picked up and eaten on the bus, it saved time.
My husband and I enjoyed this tour very much. After spending time in the city, it was good to visit the castles and see the countryside. Our driver Per and our guide Simone were excellent.
Saw some amazing castles and lovely countryside that we wouldn't have seen if we stayed in the city! An excellent day!
What a fabulous day! Three beautiful and different castles in one day, highlighted by fabulous guide Kristen! It was a busy day, but with eating a delicious lunch on the bus we were able to have enough time to experience three difference castles as well as excellent scenery along the drives. This was narrated by an audio guide as well as a knowledgeable and funny driver whose name I am very sorry I have forgotten. I highly recommend this tour!
We really enjoyed this tour. It included three very interesting castles one from the outside only as well as a nice look at the Danish Riviera towns along the Kattegat and Oresund. The tour was very well planned, organized and executed.
Excellent tour! Guides were great! Well planned and well paced! A very enjoyable day!
Interesting itinerary, good guide. Timing of stops along way good.
A most enjoyable day
Excellent tour and tour guide Mark! It is always nice to have a tour guide that is personable and knowledgable. Hamlet was a wonderful castle. North Zealand breathtaking..talk abut being well off..you know private beaches and all. And Fredricksborg Castle, what a beauty a lot of art work and just splendor and the Danes are proud of this beauty.
Started off with really heavy rain as we boarded the bus so we we quite worried. However it stopped almost at once. The tour guide and driver were friendly, chatty and knowledegable giving us comprehensive info on the sights as we went. The first stop was Kronborg Castle, made famous in Hamlet. here we had ample time to have a guided tour of the castle rooms and some of the amazing views across to Sweden. We also had an opportunity to pre-order lunch from out guide, a choice of awesome sandwiches which would be picked up and passed out later. Then on to Fredensborg Palace, where the Royal Family are still in residence. Not allowed inside but ample time for photographs outside and a break for an icecream or coffee at one of the little shops / cafe's nearby. Finally ending up at Frederiksborg Castle, with picture postcard views and photo opportunities outside and extensive guided tours inside at the beautiful rooms. AT all of the castles and sights along the way, so much to see and a wonderful introduction to so much of the history that Denmark has to offer. I'd certainly recommend this as a must for anyone visiting Copenhagen, a truly marvellous day.
Very enjoyable day.
Our guide was very knowledgable and it was a fun tour.
Was a good tour with lots of photo stops. Driver and tour guide were great. Castles were wonderful to see. Sandwhich on bus amazing. Didn't have a problem finding bus, all and all enjoyable tour.
Loved the tour! The guide was very informative and the castles were amazing. My only complaint is that I felt rushed. I did not have enough to time to properly tour and see everything I wanted.
Had a blast driver and tour guid was very friendly and helpful the site was just wonderful BUT if you want something more independent this is 100 not your tour..... we have very limited time and was not able to see all the rooms within the castle but got a great overview
something to improve on: please be more specific on the location of the meet up.... it saids right beside city hall... the city hall square is HUGE!! please be more specific as in which street or near another landmark I almost miss my tour because of that
Scenic drive along the coastal road to the the first castle. Hamlet's castle is a misnomer, and the furnishings are reproductions. The last castle of the tour is actually the better of the two we saw, but the views from the first are more dramatic
It was rather rushed. However, I suspect that is more the nature of this type of thing. We had no problem finding the bus and everything went smoothly. The commentary was quite good recorded and live and I appreciated the little detour to see some traditional homes in a small fishing village.
I was rather suspicious about what we would get from the sandwich supplier, but they were much better than expected. Quite tasty.
Summary: too much money for too little. Time spent at the castles are not enough to see them. It will be cheaper and more rewarding to do it on your own. If you can't, I suggest you skip Hamlet Castle and do the North Zealand one which can take easily 3 hours which is reachable from Copenhagen by train bus around 1 hour.
I had a very rude bus driver that got in a fight with me because I dared to complained the guide left me and my family behind while we were using the bathroom, even though the guide said we could go and she would wait for us We took literally 5 minutes. I emailed the whole story to the local company who manages this tour- only to get a reply from them saying the company that runs the tour is a partner and they are not responsible. They said the partner would contact me but they never did. Just poor experience all around.
We arrived twenty minutes early and the bus never showed up at the appointed place. We stayed an extra ten minutes past the time. There were no other tourists waiting there either, and the site was partially closed due to construction. I believe the tour was meeting in another location, but I never was informed. I emailed Viator the same day but they never responded either. I was very disappointed with this tour, I had been looking forward to it.
This was a fantastic day trip. A great opportunity to see Denmark outside of Copenhagen. The castles were amazing and our guide was excellent. We had a lot of time at each castle guided and free time to explore on our own. If you have limited time in Denmark, and want to get outside of Copenhagen this is a memorable trip.
This tour was more than I expected. Right from the moment we departed the meeting point in Copenhagen the commentary began and continued for the whole day. The guide, Mark, and the driver whose name escapes me, were exceptional and did their utmost to ensure the tour was memorable. Not only did we get the tour of the castles, but the bonus was the Copenhagen Riviera, the Danish countryside and the icing on the cake was, of course, the castles. Plenty of time allocated to see and absorb the history, and I was particularly impressed by the luncheon arrangements whereby pre-ordered sandwiches etc were delivered to the bus to be consumed en-route thus saving valuable travelling time.
A very well organised tour and one that I would recommend to a visitor to Copenhagen as a must do.....you won't regret it!
Lovely to get out and see some Danish countryside. Excellent driver who did a couple of detours to show us a it extra. Very informative and enjoyable day out.
