The organisation of this trip was great and the local guide for Machu Picchu was wondferful. It was value for money and so easy to organise. Would highly recommend
Every aspect of the day was taken care of--transportation to the train station, train tickets, bus tickets from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, entrance and guided tour of Machu Picchu, and lunch. Normally, I like to do trips like this on my own, but when I saw what was involved, I decided to leave it to the experts. I wasn't disappointed. A great day!
PS--If you can do the Vistadome train, I highly recommend it. The traditional food they serve is very good and the windows on the top of the train are really nice to have as the scenery is beautiful.
The time at MP was too short, but that was not Viatour's fault. The trip was extremely well organized, and I appreciated that. Also, we had an English-speaking guide for the two of us and one other family; while she was not exciting, it was wonderful to have the flexibility of such a small group. Highly recommended if you don't want to organize the entire day yourself.
It was a very well organised trip. The english guide who took me around in machu picchu was excellent. I just wish the pick up time was not so early. They picked me up at 5AM for a train leaving at 6AM.
Our tour guide Hector was excellent. If there is anyway to request him you should definitely do so. It's a shame we only really got about 2 hours or so to go with him around the Machu Picchu site but because of the train schedules there is not much you can do. Hector was filled with all sorts of stories and details that really made this an extremely enjoyable trip.
The included lunch is always something I would recommend avoiding if you can on any of these trips if you are any sort of "foodie". The lunch at Todos in Aguas Calientes was pretty poor in my opinion.
Viator, if you could arrange more of your tours with an optional lunch (where we could go to other places on our own) I think that would really make the entire experience better.
There were only 4 people with us on our tour inside Machu Picchu which gave us a lot of face time with our guide Hector.
This trip is essentially what I have come to expect of Viator day tours (we are getting spoiled). Well organized, very informative, small groups, and just overall worth it. Other than the food there is nothing that I wouldn't rate as excellent.
Thanks!
Great trip. Picked up as arranged and all ran smoothly. Tour guide knowledable. Recommend this trip.
A bit confusing because at pickup no english was spoken. I was just told a guide would be at the site. I was the only english speaker and overall it was a great experience.
We had a great experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and answered all questions. The train ride was an experience in itself with beautiful views.
Excellent from start to finish. So well organised. Although I was the only English speaker in my group everything was explained to me and I was met by an English-speaking guide when we arrived at Machu Picchu. Recommended to all. No queing for tickets. Perfect way to see this awesome place.
