Doing what: Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco

This was a very memorable tour and it was really worth the trip. The Inca site was amazing! The only concern is the possibility of high altitude sickness in Cusco where you have to stay a night in order to make the trip the next day to Machu Picchu.

Everything about the trip was great with the exception of the buffet lunch which was horrible. The pickup at the hotel was organized with the tour operator contacting me the day before. The tour guide was knowledgable and explained all the aspects of the site. Made getting there easy.

Doing what: Private 2-Day Tour of Cusco and Machu Picchu

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and my guide, however, Viator needs to be honest about the advertisement as this was not a 2 day tour. I assumed the "2nd" day would be a tour of Cusco the city but was dissapointed to find out that you are whisked in and whisked out and really only have 1 day and 1 night agenda. As soon as you arrive, you are taken to hotel to drop off luggage then off to train station to get to Machu Pichu, and at end of day brought back to Cusco and taken to airport early am to go back wherever you arrived from. I chose to make it a two day by booking another night at my expense at the hotel and toured city, again on my own expense...so overall it is not what they say it is. Get another hotel as you can find many many less expensive hotels in area (hostels suggested here). I think 700.00 for 1 day night is way too expensive. Machu Picchu and guide were amazing though...and thats all you get plus buffet at entrance.

The guide was very experienced and good control of routing and timing so that we had ample time to look around but no rush.

This tour is beyond my expectation. Guide handed me an envelope with all the tickets that I will need for this tour. Good food was served in the Vistadome train. Good service overall.

Long day but well worth it. We were lucky in getting a guide just for the two of us which made it a much more enjoyable experience. Guide was excellent with good English. Buffet lunch was nice by the river. A memorable day.

Our tourist guide didn't give detailed information, he was in rush ending the trip.
Except our guide, it was a well organized tour.

Doing what: Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco

Just amazing. There are 3 trains that leave and we were booked on the earliest, this only gave us 2.5 hours walking around Machu Picchu but to be honest it was all that was needed. I only had a day free and this was just a great way to do it.

Doing what: Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco

Great day - all travel arrangements went smoothly and always someone waiting for us when / where they were supposed to be!
Would have been nice to get a later train back to Cusco (we got the 15.20) and have an extra hour at Machu Picchu site and extra hour in Aguas Caliente - we had to eat our lunch very quickly and had little time to shop!

Doing what: Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco

Overall a great trip. Door to door service. If you have more time, I would do the 2 day trip that goes to the sacred valley. I would also do the sacred valley before you do Machu Picchu. Also, try to find a trip that goes in by the original way instead of the new way. Still amazing views, but the original entrance is even better.

Amazing - Mr Jimmy (Salazar I think) was a fantastic guide. It was the best part of my entire trip. Well done!

Doing what: Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco

A great day and well worth the early start. The train to Aguas Calientas was very slow, with great views of the countryside, valley and mountains, but the ultimate was the first view of Machu Picchu. Coming through the gate onto the terraces was very a special moment. Our guide gave our small group a very informative running commentary, and our 3+/- hours at the top was well worth the long day. Lunch was great back in AG and the just as slow train ride back to Cusco was pumped up by a Peru Rail fashion parade. Yes a long day but would do it all over again in a heart beat!
