It’s easy to fall into a state tropical languor on a visit to Darwin but you must resist! So put down that cold drink and peel your butt out of that hammock, a whole swathe of attractions await.
Kakadu National Park
This incredible natural beauty is the reason why most people visit Australia’s Top End. Covering a staggering 4.2 million acres, Kakadu is of great significance to Australian Aborigines and supports a huge variety of plant and animal life. Its sandstone escarpments, life-giving waterholes and lily-strewn waterways can be explored on a day trip from Darwin but camping overnight is perhaps the best way to experience its true beauty.
