How to Get to Roseau

The Roseau ship terminal is located right near downtown Roseau and is an easy walk to all the shops and town attractions. From there, it’s best to hire a car or use a taxi to get around the island.

One Day on Dominica

Although there are lots of fun things to see and do in town, the island highlights are more inland in the mountains, where you can see spectacular waterfalls and untouched nature. Unfortunately, these remote locations are a bit difficult to get to and are best taken in during a ship-orchestrated tour.

Enjoy a Half Day Jeep Safari or a leisurely tube down the river with the River Tubing Safari. Kids will love the ropes course adventure at the Wacky Rollers Adventure Park. At the end of the day, kick back with a cocktail at one of Rouseau’s many pubs and restaurants.

Port Information

The official language of Dominica is English, and while the official currency is the East Caribbean Dollar, most businesses accept American Dollars. Dominica is not as highly trafficked by cruise lines than many other Caribbean islands, so you may enjoy fewer crowds.

Doing what: Dominica Shore Excursion: Half Day Jeep Safari

Seeing the beautiful island of Dominica in an open air jeep was worth the choice of this excursion! Having a tour guide like Shevan made it even more delightful! She gave an insider's look at the history and life of the island and entertained us as well. The swim at the end is safe and fun for all ages. It is required than one wear a flotation device, and small groups are led through a short tunnel gorge to an open natural pool where there is a waterfall. The more adventurous can enter the pool by jumping off a ten foot ledge into the cold water, but most waded in from a shallow entrance.
