Roseau’s Old Market has been a vital hub for the past 300 years. Souvenirs, handicrafts and Rasta essentials are sold these days, but in the past the market was a forum for everything from political meetings to executions and slave markets.
The Old Market is on a cobblestone plaza and covered arcade. Atmospheric market stalls include wooden booths laden with tropical fruit.
Look out for spices, coffee, leather goods, woven baskets and coconut-shell ornaments.
