Doing what: 4x4 Dubai Desert Safari
This was a really enjoyable day. The pick up from the hotel was effortless for me as a tourist, our driver was friendly and knowledgable and above all a really good driver. We had such fun driving in the desert and yet he was so competent that we never felt frightened.
I think that some of the stops we had lasted for too long and we were just hanging about waiting to go again. This is particularly evident when watching the DVD of our day when there are endless footage of people just hanging about in the sand dunes and still shots of almost everyone, though not of me.
The evening entertainment was enjoyable and I thought the belly dancer was amazing. She was not just a good dancer but an excellent entertainer as well.
The food was very tasty , it was fun having a henna tattoo and I enjoyed all that was on offer.
I would recommend this tour to a friend.

Fabulous! Orient Tours were amazing. The sand duning was spectacular. Food was great and the entertainment was 1st class. We had a couple of tourists who unfortunately made themselves at home at the shisha pipes and didn't move from there until dinner time. But that aside, we had a brilliant time and would do this again when next we're in Dubai.

Pick up from the hotel was ahead of time. Waited for the other 4x4 vehicles to arrive. Fun adventure if you do not have a weak stomach. Entertainment, short camel ride, henna tattoo, falcon, shisha and meals were all fun and interesting. Not to miss.

Doing what: 4x4 Dubai Desert Safari
An excellant trip once everyone was collected from their hotels and taken to the start point in the desert (in Toyota Land Cruisers). These vehicles are amazing at tackling massive sand dunes. The fact that they they don't tip over, even whilst being driven at crazy angles shows how well designed they are. The only draw back is that with 6 people in the vehicle the two at the back sit in quite cramped seats. Overall a really good trip which my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed.

I enjoyed the very much. The 4x4 was just average for me since I thought it could have gone faster :-). At times it was bumpy, once we got to the camp where they served dinner, take pictures with the locals and ride the camel...that was the high light for me. The dancing performance was also very nice. Overall, I would recommend this trip...it is very good value for what you get.

Doing what: Private Tour: 4x4 Desert Adventure Safari from Dubai
We did enjoy this tour. We did find it very tourist based but the staff were friendly, entertainment was good and meal nice. Just not what we were looking for.

The pick up was nearly an hour late and the 4x4 in the desert went on for too long and I felt quite ill! The camel farm was boring but once we got to the camp it was quite good. The camel ride was short but still fun. The food was really good and the entertainment was ok.

Doing what: Dubai 4x4 Sandboarding Safari
The operator is completely unprepared for sandboarding. The boards were old and not waxed - therefore not sliding at all. Despite the assurance that boots will be provided, we had to go bare foot. The operator had chosen dunes right next to the road - little fun and not really a "desert" experience. Shall I go further? Not recommended.

Good thing I had an airsick patch behind my ear, because this was one wild ride! I wish the camel rides were longer and we had more time to do more than one sand board run, but we had a really good time. The food was great! The $25 disk was kind of a waste, considering I only found a few photos of us on it...and we'd taken ones ourselves that were almost complete duplicates. However, $25 is a lot less than the $60 charge you get at the Bjur Khalifa for just one photo.

Great outing to experience the desert up close and personal.... expert driving over the dunes.. stops to experience the vast emptiness of the desert and the dinner and entertainment at the camp was great. We even got time to have a quick fly of our kites :)

The desert safari was a good time. The driver was knowledgeable and seemed experienced at the dune bashing aspect of the trip. Would recommend a larger party than 1 to really enjoy all aspects of tour. Overall, a most pleasent experience, 9.5 out of 10.

After reading all the reviews from several people and seeing how much fun everyone had I thought I'd give it a go!
My girlfriend and I were not dissapointed! It was such great fun!!
After arranging for the driver to pick us up we were driven to the desert just east of Dubai itself. Our driver was great! The 4x4 experience was thrilling! it's like being on a rollercoaster. You stop every now and again to have your picture taken by the safari team, who are really friendly people.
After 30-40mins of 4x4 rally driving you are taken to a camel farm. Again you have pictures taken. There's also an opportunity to hold a bird of prey but you have to pay 10AED. I did it and it was cool!
You finally move to a a traditional bedawin style camp. Here there's food and drinks all for free! You also have the chance to ride camels as many times as you want. You and sand board also down one of the dunes.
There was a really tallented guy there who makes sand art in bottles for you, he makes them from scratch and to your design. Very impressive. The cost depends on the size of the bottle. I paid 100AED.
As the evening wears on the entertainment consists of a traditional Arab dance and a belly dancer.
On completion your driver takes you back to your hotel or home.
My girlfriend and I had an excellent time! I would highly reccommend this to anybody. Your face will be sore by the end of the day because of how much you'll be laughing and smiling!
