The literary pub crawl was one of the best times we had in Dublin. It was very well organized and the choice of pubs was great. Frank and Brendan did an excellent job of acting out portions of plays and doing recitations. They were extremely knowledgeable about answering questions while keeping the whole experience fun. Their acting was terrific too. I would recommend this tour to anyone no matter what their level of literary expertise. It was informative, friendly, fast paced and lots of laughs. Well worth the cost of a ticket.
Did not enjoy as it was too drawn out, we had to wait until the end of the crawl to learn anything when it would have been much more informative to learn about what we were seeing when viewing it. By the time you would get your drink in the bar you didn't even have time to finish it and you were off to the next place. Either less bars and more time or just stay at one or two and enjoy the local color
First of all, the literary content was very good, but there was not enough of it.
If you like a pub crawl with 20 minutes in each pub, with about 5 min literary interlude in betwen, then this tour is perfect for you.
I would have preferred much more literary content, and less drinking time, but perhaps I was expecting a walking tuype tour rather than a pub crawl.
However the 2 guides/actors were very entertaining.
This is a fantastic Pub Crawl and well worth every penny I paid for it. It is a must do experience for anyone visiting Dublin. With lots of humour as well as Dublin Literary facts not too mention the odd pint or two. It sadly marked the end of an excellent long weekend.
This was very entertaining and a great way to be introduced to Dublin night life. Would recommend this for anyone coming to Dublin
Very disappointing. We got left behind at the second pub. Maybe a head count or let people know where the next pub is so that they can check map and catch up.
Actors were good but not sure the relevancy of the pubs. One pub they took us to was so busy we waited outside for 20 mins while the actors had a drink! Also they do a lot of the talk on the street so you need good hearing!
This trip was cancelled. I imagine it would be great though because we saw signs for it all over the place!
Very enjoyable tour! I really like being introduced or re-introduced to a number of key literary figures from the Dublin area and hearing stories about their time there. I can recommend this one.
Very much enjoyed this tour for the money. However, if you expect to actually be IN the pubs while the actors share their literary factoids, forget it - most of the tour/storytelling took place on the street near the pubs. We would hear the "stories" then be sent inside on our own for a drink - very boring. We thought we be enjoying a pint whilst listening to literary facts related to that particular pub. Not even close; but entertaining, even if not as advertised.
