I am sure people are aware when booking this, but Loch Ness is quite far from Edinburgh so the tour involves a far amount of driving. So quite a bit of the tour is in the mini bus moving between the stops. Some people on our tour didn't seem to realise this so were a bit disappointed (I guess geography wasn';t their strong suit!) so thought I'd add it into my review.

However, our guide Pete was excellent - had exactly the right balance of comedy but also interesting historical facts about the area. We had sections of the tour spent with commentary, some with traditional scottish music, and some allowing us to sleep.

Glencoe was breathtaking, Loch Ness was great and the £12 boat trip well worth it.

Would recommend this tour.

fantastic trip Rabbie's Trail Burners are the best, the scenery and route were breathtaking the cruise down loch ness was amazing and being luccky enough to view Ben Nevis in all its glory was a true spectacle Viator will be used again in future many congratulations for using Rabbies for the tour they exceeded in every way as tour guides the tour was fun packed and full of information and history and luckily we had the hottest weather Scotland has seen in 53 years so it was just perfect this tour is a must for anyone visiting scotland the areas you visit and see and mind blowing and having the opportunity to see sights that you thought were only available on tv was magical thank you viator this trip made our holiday

We can't say enough wonderful things about our day tour to Loch Ness through the Scottish Highlands, especially about our tour guide, Audrey. She amazed us with her knowledge of the Highlands, as well as the history of Scotland - we all learned so much! A week later, we're still talking about her and what we learned and saw during our tour. We were lucky to see the Highlands on a day with near perfect weather, and still can't believe we visited Loch Ness - a truly magical place I always thought only existed in storybooks. Thank you Audrey for an unforgettable experience!

This was a great trip - I really feel like we had a special experience. There's no way I could have seen so much or such special things independently. Our trip was planned so well that we arrived at a Loch Ness beauty spot just in time for sunset. That, and the time in Glen Affric were truly stunning, unforgettable experiences. Many thanks to Barney too - you were great!

My family and I truly appreciated the knowledge and history lesson shared by our guide. His passion for his country and its heritage was palpable and infectious. He was truly interesting and had a keen sense of when to stop talking and let the passengers take in the view; especially with a soft background of authentic Celtic music. Our visit to Scotland was a true learning experience due to this tour. There's so much more to the country then the main attractions!! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see and understand the history of Scotland. Just one disappointment: The Loch Ness cruise! It’s not included in this tour and I now understand why!

Our guide was absolutely fantastic! We had such a wonderful time and learned so much. He was informative, fun, energetic and nice. The tour itself is great as it takes you all over Scotland and a chance to cruise Loch Ness. Amazing day!! I would recommend this to everyone.

Great trip!Small group of people and nice friendly tour guide Emily telling us about all the history and also providing plenty of photo stops. We really enjoyed our trip and was glad to experience as much of the highlands as we could in one day. We did the boat trip loch ness excersion which was great and informative.would definately recommed rabbies tours and use them again in the future!

Really great trip! Felt like I got a great feel for Scotland, extremely entertaining and informative! Would recommend to everyone! We did the extra boat trip on the Loch Ness, very worth it as well!

The scenic view alone was worth the money but the driver/tour guide Mckenzi (known as Mac) made this trip absolutely unforgettable. He was a walking (or rather driving) history book. Mac wore a kilt and played bag pipes for us. You wont spend much time at Loch Ness but all the other places more than make up for it. This was a first class, top notch day trip. I highly recommend that you book this trip.

Be prepared to go without toilet for 3-4 hrs.. cause its a long drive..But the sights where great.. too bad mostly from the bus only.. hardly many parts of the drive did we actually get to go down and take photos.. Did cruise along loch ness.. quite nice..

Very interesting and well organized trip. Our guide Emily did a great job and covered Scottish history and the various tourist spots with a very knowledgeable commentary. One more picturesque Loch apart from Loch Ness could be included as a stop over point for sightseeing. Would recommend this trip to anyone doing Scotland first time.

Lots of photo stops so we could admire and record the beautiful landscape Scotland has! I'm out of words as I really enjoyed my time in that country!
The air conditioning in the bus was a little too much 'cause I got a cold. It wasn't hot in the highlands... but one tourist kept asking to turn the AC on!
We didn't receive any discount card mentioned in this site...
Loch Ness was disapointing for me as I didn't know where to go to admire the view better (like in Loch Lomond). I believe in this case you really have to go on the cruise. Anyway I loved Scotland.

Trip was good - we knew it would be a flying visit - but still worth while. Was very disappointed that we did not get to go on the Loch Ness cruise as the tour guide said it was all booked out. Felt that this should have been communicated as we flew to the other side of the world to do this. Would have gone with another tour company had I known this.

Yes, the tour had a lot of grounds to cover. But it was disappointing that for Loch Ness it only stopped at one tip of the long loch. Did not even get close to either the Urquhart Castle or the Loch Ness Monster Museum. For the seven locks at Fort Augustus, the tour guide/bus driver should at least take us to the top of the 7 locks. Instead, the bus stopped at the bottom/lower end of the 7 locks for lunch. I am sure most people didn't know they should walk all the way upstream to see the wonder of the 7 locks. For someone like me who had been to the highlands, this tour is a great disappointment. I wish we had stopped at the more scenic and major attractions, not some small and unattractive water falls. Not recommended.

The tour was good although more time in Loch Ness including time for a loch cruise would have been better with fewer stops along the way although I was not impressed with guide. The tour guide seemed more interested in hearing his own voice than providing valuable and informative information. Without exaggerating, he did not stop talking for the entire 8 hours, to the point that I had a headache at the end of the trip. I also found his constant comments about Princess Diana unnecessary and offensive.
