An informative tour by Mr. Stuart Usher from a long lineage of over 200 years. You meet at the Usher Hall to start your tour. In no order you proceed by the Castle, Riddles Court from the 1590s, to the Deacons House where Jerkle and Hyde was written, down the Royal Mile, into St Giles Cathedral, among other places and stops, into the museum where Mr. Usher gives you some very good clues about evaluating paintings. The tour ends here.
If you are doing the morning tour, afterwards, you might want to invite Mr. Usher fo a light snack in the park, to learn more, before he starts his afternoon tour.
Doing what: Edinburgh Guided Walking Tour
This walking tour was a great introduction to Edinburgh. We took the tour our first full day in Edinburgh and learned so much about the city , its landmarks and it's famous people. We went back on our own 2 days later and spent hours visiting Edinburgh Castle, St. Giles Cathedral, and Holyrood Palace. Not to be missed.
The only problem we had was the meeting place to start the tour. There are two statues at St Giles, one on either side. Instructions need to be clearer for those not familiar with the area on which side to meet at. We actually met up on the back side, not the front.
