Mummies Exhibition: Seeing through to the past
Until May 27th, 2012 Scotland’s National Museum has a ground-breaking exhibition of Egyptian mummies featuring the latest technologies which are unlocking their secrets. The exhibition features Scotland’s own Egyptian mummy, the Rhind mummy discovered in 1857, which has never been unravelled but is now revealing its hidden depths through CT scans and nuclear DNA testing; even those advanced Egyptians hadn’t thought of these technologies.
