MAC was the best tour guide Ever!!! A great tour including the beautiful scenery of the highlands, and hearing tales of the exciting scottish history enhanced with authentic scottish folk music and MAC who played the bagpipes for us!! One of the best tours I've been on by far :D
Tour was fantastic. Great way to see the highlands and learnt so much of the history. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
The highlands trip was disapointing, a lot of bus hours and little to see. The tickets for the tatoo were very good and that was our main reason to take this tour, so at the end it was ok.
Amazing two days exploring the Highlands! Could not have been more pleased with the tour other than wishing it not to end. Bed and breakfast accomadation was delightful. Tour guide Doug was wonderful and a great storyteller. Group preferences for activities considered and time to explore sites was just right considering the miles covered. Loved the music selections to accompany the scenery and history. Absolutely worth the time and money. Will book with Rabbie's again!
If I could only rate this 10 STARS. I fell in love with the Highlands on this tour. Mac our tour guide really blew this tour out of the water. THE BEST tour to date I have been on, even in the chill of November in Scotland. Rabbies tours, I would book with them again any time! Well worth the money and time, and drizzle. Castles, Rainbows, Sheep, Stew, Bagpipes, does it get better? Not for this girl!
It was all we expected and more! The tour guide, Mac, told the group tons of stories about the clans and battles in the highlands, making the tour even more fascinating. The scenery was breathtaking. The highlands, Glencoe and Loch Ness were simply beautiful. We had the chance to make a boat tour on Loch Ness and try to find Nessie. No luck this time, though... We definitely recommend this tour so that you can fall in love with Scotland as we did. Being from Brazil, Mac was even nice enough to say some words in portuguese!
Great trip and our guide was very knowledgeable. We stopped at many sites along the way to take pictures and the guide was more than helpful taking our family photos. The Loch Ness site was awesome and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The bus was comfortable and the driver allowed us to take many "pit" stops to get a drink, stretch our legs or use the bathrooms. Only con of the trip was if you get the least bit car sick when travelling, do not book this trip as the roads through the highlands and the lochs navigate closely to these geographical features and there are many twists and turns which made me queasy. But overall, great experience.
We had an amazing driver, well expertise in driving and showing amazing places in Highlands.
He deserves a good appreciation.
The only drawback was, sitting in the front, on the seat beside the driver was not comfortable.
The reason being one can not place there feel freely due to the steps beneath.
It was very hard to travel all day sitting there!!
Instead of filling a seat to make an extra income, that seat must be avoid as it is very discomfortable.
Mr Jan, the tour guide is very helpful and delivered a very informative, pleasant journey about the highlands and its history. Credit also goes to the driver for his tireless hardwork to take us to all the places they can within a very tight schedule.
We enjoy the tour, it is lovely. Thanks for sharing all the stories and nice shortbreads, Mr Jan!
Highly recommend to take Jan as your tour guide!

Lovely trip to highlands with a very nice tour guide in comfortable van. Optional cruise at Loch Ness is worth of doing even though I didn't see anything. The beautiful scene of Scottish countryside is another bonus.
I think this is a unique experience and it an attraction to go when you're in Scotland. Also, me and my wife were lucky to have a nice weather (mostly sunny with a shower passing by) and very friendly people. We really enjoyed our time in Edinburgh and I wish we had more time for other attractions and to travel to other areas in Scotland - more to North or West... I mean.. more to the Highlands.
BTW... the Military Tattoo was GREAT!
Doing what: Scottish Highland Games Day Trip from Edinburgh
I really enjoyed my three day tour of the Highlands, specially Portree, Isle of Skye, I thought the B and B was also excellent, the Rosemount, family very warm and welcoming. The train over the viaduct, was really enjoyable, lot of fun, in Mallaig and just the drive through the Highlands, can't wait to return for a longer visit. Tour guide was excellent and informative, I will have to have a family member show me how to log my photos on, took excellent photos of the train coming around the via duct, thanks to a staff member on the train, in the gift shop at the time, and he told me I had a perfect photo opportunity, that was nice of him,he was very informative and friendly too, also my photos of Glencoe. Looking forward to a return visit, Loch Ness, Callander and Blair Atholl on my list to do now. Thank you. ,
Amazing trip! Our guide, Lora, was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable and had a bubbly personality. She played music of the Highlands during the trip and then recommended several local artists CDs and a shop where we could find them. I fell in love with the Highlands and will definitely be returning!
It is a long day out, but one gets to see a lot of the Scottish countryside and a bit of the Highlands. The vehicle was comfortable and there were a sufficient number of planned stops to stretch the legs. The tour ran on schedule. The tour guide was informative and we had a safe driver behind the wheel. PS. It was a good idea to do the hour long boat trip on Loch Ness.
An very well run tour with an excellent guide, Mac. Rabbie's tours are small, no more than 16 people, and consequently can access sites that larger tours cannot. We were able to drive to some of the more remote places and the sights were incredible. Mac had a wealth of stories about the history, the people and the land and told them in a funny, colorful and very entertaining way. In addition his selections of music were completely in tune (pun intended!) with our musical tastes. The hosts at our B and Bs were charming and provided tasty and filling breakfasts. We very much enjoyed the sights, Mac's narratives and the company of our fellow passengers and were sad it was time to leave the Highlands and part company. Highly recommended tour, company and guide!
