The glorious Mamanuca Islands are picture-postcard Fiji. These are the islands of eternal sunshine, pristine beaches and coconut palms.
Lazing about in the sun is one of the best ways to enjoy the Mamanuca’s and they offer plenty of opportunities from the tiny, uninhabited Monuriki which featured in the movie Cast Away, to Bounty Island where Survivor: Fiji was filmed.
There are plenty of activities to partake in around the islands and snorkelling would have to be one of the most endearing, with fantastic opportunities to view Neptune’s world. There are also some excellent dive sites, especially Gotham City and the Supermarket. If you’re a surfer there are some good breaks around the southern islands.
If you’re keen on calmer activities then the islands of Tokoriki and Navini offer great walks, good native birdwatching and decent game fishing.

Fantastic day. Staff are very attentive and food was excellent. Good value for the price.
Continue Reading »Great trip. Only 9 guests and 7 crew so VERY well looked after. Excellent food and limitless beer/wine/soft drinks. Crew entertained us well with guitar and singing. Comfortable, on time connectionsboth to and from Denarau and for the South Sea Cruises catamaran.
Mondriki snorkelling was superb and really exclusive; the current was a little strong for us being weaker swimmers. The BBQ lunch was excellent. Visit to the island and the Kava ceremony were interesting. The children and islanders were delightful. Have Fiji cash to buy a few things from their stalls. Another long and tiring but successful trip with Viator. Thanks!
ps confirming your trip by fone can be inconvenient and costly without a local cell fone.
Practical Info
The Mamanuca Island’s are easily accessible by light plane which takes 15 mins from Nadi or by many of the boats and catamarans that travel between Nadi and the islands. There are also plenty of tours that travel around the islands giving you the chance to get away from the madding crowd.
