Doing what: Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

The best part of our entire Italy trip was this tour!!! You cover a ton of territory and see some amazing sights. Siena is a must see and the lunch on the farm was my favorite. And stopping in Pisa was a perfect end. You hit 4 must do's in 1 day and while it is a long day you still have enough time in each spot to explore on your own..it's not too rushed. It was the perfect balance of a guided tour with free time. My hubby and I did pay the extra to go to the top of leaning tower of Pisa..after you've come all this way why not? And I cannot say enough about how wonderful our guide Sanda was!!! She was excellent and really made the trip that much more enjoyable.

This daytrip was the highlight of my whole holiday! The tourguide was well informed and very professional. We were so surprised by the town on the hill: San Gimignano (the name we still battle to pronounce). It was beautiful with a breathtaking view of the Tuscan countryside. It also has the award winning gelato ice cream - the best in the world! The lunch on the farm was excellent. The last stop was at the leaning tower of Pisa and the tourguide even gave us tips on how to take "cheesy" pictures of us "holding up" the tower. What a great day. I highly recommend this trip

Fabulous! Cannot speak highly enough of everything about this tour. It was amazing that we got to see and do all the things we did in one day. We had enough free time in each stop to enjoy our time there but enjoyed also being shown the highlights of each town and information and history about each place. Sienna was a beautiful place to see, the winery and lunch with wine tasting was truly amazing. The staff there were very warm and welcoming and encouraged us to eat and drink as much as we wanted to. Then on to San Gimigiano where we tasted the winner of the World's Best Gelato - and it was truly the best! The scenery was fantastic. Then on to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. What an amazing site to see. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone from couples to families as everyone mixed well and it was a great day out. The booking process was so easy. Finding the bus (which was very comfortable for a long day trip) was easy right out the front of the railway station as stated on the brochure. Michelle the tour guide was very knowledgeable and just a lovely person to spend the whole day with. The bus driver was very experienced on the small windy roads and I felt very safe the whole trip. No problems at all and if I went back to Florence I would definetely go with this company again.

This was an amazing tour!!! We loved Siena and have decided that the cathedral was the best we saw during our two week trip to Italy. The lunch at the winery was delicious and the views of San Gimignano was amazing. And of course we enjoyed seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This was a most enjoyable day.

This was by far one of the most comprehensive day trips we could have asked for! We saw all the sights in enough detail and were able to really have a taste of Tuscany. The Tour Guide Babara was very efficient, and knowledgeable. The typical Tuscan lunch and wine tasting was delicious, this took place on an Organic Farm in the breathtaking setting of the rolling Tuscan Hills. I would recommend this tour to everyone travelling to Florence: Siena and Pisa are must see towns, and the 'typical Tuscan' village of San Gimignano is home to some of the best ice cream in the World, most picturesque views and beautiful winding, cobbled streets. Thank you Viator!

This was a long day--12 hours, but well worth it. The tour group, Walkabout, does only two tours in Florence, and both tours have very knowledgable tour guides who are also very personable. The stop for lunch at an organic farm that grows grapes as well as some organic food for their restaurant was wonderful, with a gorgeous hill view scene of Tuscany area. The trip on to Siena was beautiful, the city itself is spectacular, and the Cathedral is spectacular, well worth the trip by itself. Outside in the famous Piazza del Campo, you can actually imagine the Palio, or annual horse race, as it is run, without having to deal with the crushing crowds! A great place to buy pottery, also. On to the town of San Gimignano, you experience the feeling of the Romans by the various entrances to the enclosed city. The famous towers were worth the pictures we took, and the buildings themselves were interesting. Onto seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa, as the last stop, to me, was anticlimatic. It was interesting to see it in person, and everyone seems to want to take the photos of their holding it up, but once you have seen it, after all the other things in Tuscany, it seemed oh hum....

The trip to and back, just through the countryside, are spectacular.

Great day, well worth it. The full tour might have been a bit on the long side, but the only way to shorten it would be to skip the side trip to Pisa -- but it was good to see the leaning tower. The tour guide (Agata) was very good.

We did this tour the day after 30 hours of travelling from New Zealand. The fact that we only fell asleep on the way home that evening is testimony to what a great trip it was! Knowing nothing about Siena, we found it was a highlight of our 6 days in Tuscany. The cathedral there is simply breath-taking. Our bus tour guide, Stefano, was perhaps the best guide we encountered in Italy (though all were good): funny, informative, friendly and helpful. The Siena guide was also witty, proud of her home town, and excellent. San Gimignano was interesting and both it and Siena felt "authentic" - like they were little changed from hundreds of years ago. Pisa was a little disappointing by comparison - though it didn't help that it poured with rain while we were there! (Plus our jet lag was starting to get the better of us...) Though it's a better known town (for its leaning tower), I'd recommend Siena if you had to choose one or the other. That said, the whole trip was excellent and we were pleased to have taken the advice of a friend and got out of Florence to explore the surrounding towns and countryside. Highly recommend.

Doing what: Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

This was a great way to see the Tuscan Countryside, and visit some major sites along the way. A lot was packed in for a full day trip, however it never seemed rushed. Our tour guide Elisa, gave wonderful explanations of each of the areas we visited. The guided tour of Siena was nicely done, covering the major sites and the history of banking, I would have liked more time here, as much of it was squandered waiting in line for the restrooms at the Siena Cathedral since the bus did not have any restrooms on board. When I had booked the tour, I was afraid the lunch stop was not going to be filling, but I was proven wrong after a nice tour of the farm, the meat and wine tasting was substantial, and the longer bus ride was nice to relax after all that food and wine. San Gimignano was a wonderful place, though I half would have liked a guided walk around the streets, however we did make good use of the time just wandering the scenic streets, and eating gelato. The time in Pisa the final destination could have been cut a bit shorter, and the tram ride was a bit hot and uncomfortable, in addition our tram had a bad connection so as our guide spoke, we missed some of what she said. It was nice go to the top of the leaning tower. Pros: Saw a lot without feeling too rushed, a wonderful meal, and lots of good wine, Informative tour of Siena, nice amount of time for wandering in San Gimignano, Cons: No bathroom on bus (this took time away from exploring each of the sites), too much time in Pisa, would have liked a short guided tour in San Gimignano, would have liked more free time in Siena, tram in Pisa was not fun

Loved this tour! Great pacing - We had a tour of beautiful Siena with a local guide Donatella who was great. Lunch with wine tasting at the organic farm was delicious (note - they work with almost any food issue from vegan to allergies). The Tuscan countryside is breathtaking and even Pisa which I thought of as the 'Ok" add-on was fun. We climbed the tower and took our cheesy pictures and had a ball! Sandra the tour guide was great!!! Don't let the length of the tour dissuade you - the day flew by and was a highlight of our Italy trip!

This was an awesome tour, highly recommend it! Our tour guide was Barbara with Walkabout Tours and she was just an incredible guide. It is a fairly long day but definitely worth the trip. The cities of Siena and San Gimignano are absolutely amazing and are worth the trip. The Pisa part of the trip is not that great - it is more of a tourist trap -- but it was OK to get the cheesy picture with the leaning tower. Highly recommend this tour and especially Barbara with Walkabout.

Excellent trip! We stayed in Florence for 4 days and did this one on day two. Be advised it is a long day ( 12 plus hrs.) but definetely worth it. Siena was the first stop, toured the city with a local tour guide (Barbara). Nice overview of the city and its famous horse races. Then went to a vineyard outside of San Gimignano for lunch, wine tasting and a tour of the grounds. After that we went to San Gimignano for a self guided tour of the town. Then to Pisa. We opted for the climb of the tower of Pisa. Only 1 hour was alloted for Pisa but in my opinion the tower climb is the most important thing to do there in a short time, crossed it off my bucket list. Back to Florence by 8:30 pm. Walkabout tours organized the tour, excellent job! It was well planned, organized, and executed. Hats off to Stefano our tour guide, outstanding job! BTW, we did the Cinque Terre trip the next day, very doable if you are in fairly good shape...Joe

What a wonderful full day we had - Thank You! We had a very easy bus trip to Siena first, then to the organic farm for a tour and lunch, off to San Gimignano then we went to Pisa. We had a local tour guide, in Siena, which was wonderful and full of information; and we had time to shop or explore, too! The farm was wonderful, the food and wine were amazing! Yes, you could purchase the wine, olive oil and other product, if you wanted and we did! We were given time alone to roam San Gimignano and we climbed one of the towers and had a view we have waited many years to see - it was so beautiful!! We shopped and then it was time to head back to the bus, for Pisa. We purchased tickets to climb the tour, when we ordered our tour through Viator, we arrived about 30 minutes before our climb time; so we took the the souvenir pictures of pushing the tower over. We climbed the top and it was well worth the effort; and still had time to get souvenirs. We loved our tour - we had a great guide and bus driver and highly recommend the trip, to others.

It is definitely a MUST go trip in Tuscany which offers you the BEST of all in one day - seeing gothic Siena, San Gimignano (where you get the world's best gelato) and the Leaning Tower at Pisa. And I absolutely love the gorgeous view at the vineyard! Our guide Sandra has also made the whole trip an interesting and lively one. My friend and I had a great time and I definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the BEST of Tuscany within one day!
