The guide Angelino was so passionate about the paintings and the statue of David. He made us really understand the renaissance period and the genius of the artists. The 2nd guide helped us to see the genius of Leonardo da Vinci showing us how to look at the paintings as they were meant to be seen from lower down looking up. We also came to understand the role of the Medici family in promoting these talented artists. This knowledge really enhanced the pleasure we had of looking at everything else Florence had to offer. Money well spent and an experience never to be forgotten.
This tour was the absolute highlight of our week-long Italy trip (Florence and Rome). I cannot say enough positive things about the tour itself, or the tour guide, Antonella. We were fortunate to be in a very small group - only one other couple was with us.
As a resident of Florence, Antonella's pride in the city made the tour even more enjoyable. She was passionate about her descriptions of the local sights, architecture and history - and her "insider" tips and stories gave me an even greater appreciation of the beauty and history of Florence.
I would HIGHLY recommend this tour - in hindsight, I would have booked an even longer guided tour. After we parted ways, I missed hearing about the background of the sights, artwork and museum. Antonella is a top-notch tour guide and if we're even in Florence again, will absolutely look her up.
This was an amazing tour! It is split into 2 parts, at 11:30am and 4:30pm. We had 2 different guides, both were brilliant in weaving historical information about Italy, culture and technique when explaining the art work at these museums.
We find it is so much more helpful to have a knowledgeable person take us through the museum and give us the history that goes with the art! Loved it!
This was very exciting! A great way to see David
A wonderful place and worth visiting! Tour was good too
Doing what: Skip the Line: Florence Uffizi Gallery Tour
Great tour and tour guide, would definitely recommend. When I booked I thought these were two consecutive tours, but there is a break in between the Accademia and Uffizi. Not a problem, because we had a marvelous lunch in between. Our guides provided all the highlights to both museums.
It was raining so the bus ride was interesting. Roads were flooded and much of the fields near Pisa were flooded. The guide on the bus would tell you about the areas you are passing so you get a tour of Tuscany as well. But it had stopped raining as soon as we got off the bus. Once you get to miracle park, you are amazed at how large the monuments are. You are met by another tour guide who will explain each building in a short tour. I highly recommend going to the top of the tower. Its about half the climb of St. Peter's Basilica, so its not so bad. After our tour the guide recommended a great restaurant to eat in Florence. So good! The best address on google maps for the meeting spot is: Piazza dell'Unità Italiana, 1, Florence, 50123 Italy. Just meet on the SW corner of that building.
Great trip. You only need half a day as not much else to do in Pisa.
A perfect afternoon filler tour. We also did the 'climb' which was great fun.
Good overview of the central historic sites.
This was a great experience. Both guides were knowledgable, gave great insights and made the experience a real treat. Plus, we were able to skip the long lines at both museums.
My favorite museum in Florence!! The David is amazing! Got right in!
Perfect tour package for a one day visit to Florence. A must for understanding and appreciating the art history of this region. Wonderful, fun learning experience for any age.
Excellent Tour Guide and a very memorable experience. Insights to the artwork on display was excellent.
