Doing what: Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

This was a long day--12 hours, but well worth it. The tour group, Walkabout, does only two tours in Florence, and both tours have very knowledgable tour guides who are also very personable. The stop for lunch at an organic farm that grows grapes as well as some organic food for their restaurant was wonderful, with a gorgeous hill view scene of Tuscany area. The trip on to Siena was beautiful, the city itself is spectacular, and the Cathedral is spectacular, well worth the trip by itself. Outside in the famous Piazza del Campo, you can actually imagine the Palio, or annual horse race, as it is run, without having to deal with the crushing crowds! A great place to buy pottery, also. On to the town of San Gimignano, you experience the feeling of the Romans by the various entrances to the enclosed city. The famous towers were worth the pictures we took, and the buildings themselves were interesting. Onto seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa, as the last stop, to me, was anticlimatic. It was interesting to see it in person, and everyone seems to want to take the photos of their holding it up, but once you have seen it, after all the other things in Tuscany, it seemed oh hum....

The trip to and back, just through the countryside, are spectacular.

Doing what: Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

Excellent trip! We stayed in Florence for 4 days and did this one on day two. Be advised it is a long day ( 12 plus hrs.) but definetely worth it. Siena was the first stop, toured the city with a local tour guide (Barbara). Nice overview of the city and its famous horse races. Then went to a vineyard outside of San Gimignano for lunch, wine tasting and a tour of the grounds. After that we went to San Gimignano for a self guided tour of the town. Then to Pisa. We opted for the climb of the tower of Pisa. Only 1 hour was alloted for Pisa but in my opinion the tower climb is the most important thing to do there in a short time, crossed it off my bucket list. Back to Florence by 8:30 pm. Walkabout tours organized the tour, excellent job! It was well planned, organized, and executed. Hats off to Stefano our tour guide, outstanding job! BTW, we did the Cinque Terre trip the next day, very doable if you are in fairly good shape...Joe

Doing what: Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

This was by far the best tour we took in all of Italy. To start, our tour guide Stefano was awesome. He gave a lot of good information, was funny, and made sure everyone enjoyed their day. You start by heading to Siena. As you leave Florence you get a little information on Florence. Siena was a very cool city we wouldn't have seen without this tour. It has an amazing piazza and church with sculptures and paintings by many famous artists. The next stop was the winery and lunch. This was another amazing stop. Lunch was delicious and the wine was very good. You can buy bottles for about 10 euros at the end of the tour. After the winery was San Gimignano. Another great city we would not have seen without this tour. Walking to the high point of this city gives you an amazing view of the Tuscan countryside!! Also buy some Boar meat salami. Delicious! The last stop was Pisa for the famous tower. This tour does not include climbing the tower but that was ok. We were able to check out the rest of Pisa a little. We also had a guided tour of Pisa before we got on the bus back to Florence!! I would recommend this tour to anyone! It was amazing!

Doing what: Siena and San Gimignano Day Trip from Florence

We throughly enjoyed our recent day trip to Siena and San Gimignano. It really was hassle free. The tour guide in Siena - Christina certainly knew the history of the city and made the tour most interesting. Thanks to Viator , would definitely choose them again to organise a tour, most efficient service. Thank you.

This was a fantastic 12-hour tour and the perfect way to see some of the small towns around Florence (Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano), which were city-states that were at war with Florence in the Middle Ages. The Siena Cathedral was absolutely stunning, gothic I think, with incredible marble work on the floors, sculptures and an incredible Library of hand-painted parchment paper books from the 14th or 15th century. We had lunch at a Chianti winery and tasted 4 different wines, and that was a very nice break in the middle of the day. Best of all was Barbara our tour guide, a native of Florence. The local company who ran this tour was Walkabout, and the entire day was extremely well-planned. They had a really nice air-conditioned bus, then had a local tour guide in Siena, they showed us a documentary on the bus about the Pallio horse race, and even took us on a little "train" ride in Pisa. I definitely recommend climbing the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This was an excellent tour and I am so glad I took it!! It was a perfect day in Tuscany!

Siena is not to be missed. My favorite city by far. The church and the history are priceless! Our Siena guide Camilla was fantastic too!
The lunch and wine tasting were superb as was the venue and view! We were rained on in San Gimignano but it still was fine for shopping. The sun came out for Pisa and I'm so glad it did. Pisa was great! Loved our tour guide Becky! She was great!

Our tour guide Barbara was great. The trip was very informational and I feel that we spent the perfect amount of time in each city. Siena and San Gimignano were beautiful and everything I wish Florence was. Before the trip I could really care less about the Pisa stop but once I saw the leaning tower in person I was very impressed. The winery stop for lunch was the best part of the trip, maybe the best part of my 10 days in Italy. The food was amazing, the wine was great, and the scenery was beautiful. This was the one part of the trip were I wish we could have gotten another half hour or more to relax, eat, and drink. The bus rides were about 1-2 hours between each stop so they didn't take too long. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested, it was one of the top highlights of our honeymoon in Italy.

Doing what: Siena and San Gimignano Small Group Day Trip from Florence

Jonathan was a wonderful guide and incredibly knowledgeable about anything we threw his way. It was our first tour with Viator and the reason we scheduled two more while in Italy. The tour was so much fun. The cathedral in Siena was only second to St. Peters Basilica in the Vatican. Unfortunately, the hills were two much for us to maneuver to explore the city and therefore we spent more time there as free time than we liked. The last stop, San Gimignano was our favorite and we could have spent more time there. Would definitely recommend this tour and Viator.

This was the most worthwhile, fantastic tour we have ever taken! Our guides, Stefano and Analise (in Siena) were simply delightful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The lunch at the winery was outstanding. The towns we visited were wonderful and the countryside was beautiful. The bus was very comfortable and the bus driver did a wonderful job negotiating the roads. We had ample time at all of our stops. The day was packed and the value of this tour was simply astounding. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to see the Tuscan countryside. Many of our friends rent cars to experience Tuscany, but this was preferable because we did not have to deal with driving on unfamiliar roads and we had the benefit of learning all about the places we were seeing from our amazing guides. Bravo!!!

Doing what: Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

This tour of Tuscany was fabulous. It included the country side a visit at a "Fattoria" (farm) where we had a fabulous lunch of pasta, meats and cheese. The wine was superb. The views of San Gimignano from the Fattoria Alloro where we had lunch were breath taking. We visited Siena, Sam Gimignao and Pisa. It was so exciting to be in Siena 2 days before the "Paglio", a traditional and old famous horse race in this city. We covered many kilometers on this tour, but we saw and enjoyed so much of Tuscany in one day. What made this tour fantastic was our tour guide Stefano. He is a native of Tuscany. He is knowledgeable, cordial, humorous and professional. I would recommend this Tuscany tour for anyone visiting Florence even for only a few days. Thank you Stefano for such and great day. Nina

Doing what: Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

A Lifetime experience!!! First of all, the places - Siena, san Gimignano, Chianti and Pisa are amazing and must in the list of one travelling Tuscany and to experience the real tuscan beauty. But unfortunately they are not doable in one day by its own either by car or using public transport from Florence. We were not so much in the guided tours so we first thought to explore them by our own and we fought a lot to fit them in 2 days itinerary - Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa along with Chianti wine tasting. But it was not possible due to crap public transport in the region. We glad we came to know about this tour. All of these four experiences together only in one day and that is with very comfortable and well managed plan. Even I think driving on sloppy tuscan lanscape is also not the solution to fit all these places in one or two days. So This is a gracious and only option to experience these places together as day trip from florence. Our tour guide Becky was awesome. The place we were knows how to maintain 200% customer satisfaction index and their whole team really worked hard to make their clients' holiday special. So do not worry regarding any guide you get they all are awesome that's what you can read here in all reviews. our wonderful tour companion Becky was paying attention to each one of us in the bus and giving tons of insights information in very light and amazing way. She really made our day!! The tour started from Florence at sharp 830. The preferable sitting position is Right side in bus that I found for wonderful landscape photograph opportunities (this is my personal observation and opinion not necessary true, because I was sitting at left side. She explained us lot about Florence while leaving the city and about 500 years long interesting competition between Siena and Florence. She very well created interest in Siena before we reached to this wonderful city. Siena is no doubt the most beautiful Tuscan city and among the most beautiful cities in Italy. The whole city is in stark difference from Florence and it's an life time experience to walk in their contrades and silent streets. We had local tour guide Elena. She was excellent in explaining about Siena. She is Sienese and was proud about her city. She walked us through 7 contrade of Siena to the cathedral and explained wonderful history of it. The Cathedral of Siena is considered one of the most beautiful in the world and we found it's really true. The whole Siena is perfect photographic opportunity for enthusiastic photographer... Elena did great job and and also We got our own free time 1 hour 20 minutes to walk into Sienese streets and admire cathedral and Campo Square. we were about 3 hours in Siena. Then we started for San Gimignano, Becky showed us nice video of Palio race. We were completely fascinated by Siena. And then the most wonderful part of trip has come. We were in the organic farm where a local guide draw us to wine farm and had winery visit they also explained how they are performing organic agriculture. The farm is at strategic location on hill and offering wonderful views of surrounding country side. It was San Gimignano just front of us. It was best photographic location. Then we had really wonderful lunch. even being vegetarian we got lots of stuff and plenty of most amazing wine. Chianti Classico and San Gimignano wine drove us crazy. We also had opportunity to taste Vino Santo the desert wine only produced in Tuscany along with Almond biscotti. You should really do some shopping from that farm, we regretted that we didn't do any as after lunch we were completely drunk and busy with photographs. It was hot tuscan day. Our next stop was world haritage San Gimignano. It was completely movie set and we felt like walking in 14th century village. Truly amazing, we got 1 and half hour free time there, it was enough. Becky told us the best view point La Rocca castle and it was really providing best views on country side and village. Also she pointed out the world's best ice cream shop. and my goodness it was the best ice cream we ever had. we tasted their White wine, saffron, fig, mango and melon flavors all were awesome. This is must in San Gimignano. Our last stop is Pisa where we got enough free time to explore fields of miracles and we also got nice train ride of town of Pisa, which is really informative. We landed back to Florence around 2000. On the way back, Becky answered us our queries and questions regarding Florence and Tuscany. She really helped us to make itinerary of our last day in Florence. It was a memorable day. Three Unesco World Heritage sites in one day. Very nicely managed, we didn't come to know where day ended. The tour was very well planned and not at all tiresome. Thanks Becky!

Doing what: Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

This was a Terrific tour, with an Italian-American tour guide Chris, making sure it was informative and fun. In Siena, with a local tour guide added, despite the Duomo being closed for a religious holiday, we got to see the Piazza del Campo converted into a horse track for the Palio and got an understanding of the local community rivalries. Next we were on to a winery tour and terrific lunch al fresco with delicious wine tastings. Then onto a leisurely walking tour of walled city of San Gimignano. Finally, onto Pisa it's FMCS leaning tower, but also, thanks to Chris, a bus tour of other sites in the city including the tower where Galileo used his telescopes to observe the stars. It was a great tour, truly covering the best of Tuscany.

My husband, adult daughter and I took the full day Tuscany tour recently. The guide (Becky) was warm and welcoming. She shared a great deal of information over the course of the day, but we never tired of hearing from her. In the span of 12 hours, we visited Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa. While in the wine country, we had a wonderful lunch at an organic vineyard. We had some rain, which made it hard to get good pictures, but we still had a great time. I highly recommend this tour! It is a great way to see the area outside the city and have some great wine and food too.

Ohmigosh, what a fabulous day!!

Our bus took us to Siena, Pisa, and San Gimignano. Each city in itself was a wonderful stop. But one of the highlights was a stop along the way for lunch. We stopped at a farm/winery, had a brief tour, and had lunch. The food was delicious, the ambience was terrific, and we had wonderful conversation with some of the others on our tour.

The whole day was very memorable and provided a real feel for the Tuscan region. An excellent day and an excellent value.
