Tours & airboat rides in the Florida Everglades
Florida Everglades Tours
For some the word 'Everglades' conjures up the image of airboats and Gentle Ben. The airboats are still there, though you are less likely to encounter any bears. Known as the 'River of Grass', the Everglades are a vast wetland in southern Florida - essentially a 40-mile wide flood moving from Lake Okeechobee southward to the 10,000 islands of Florida Bay.
The area is home to early 1500 species of plants and animals - aligators, most famously, along with panthers, possums, bats, turtles, snakes, macaws, herons, hawks and eagles. You can wander for miles along creeks and sloughs, oogling the animals (staring contests with alligators are popular), and savoring the local fare (gator dogs - hotdogs made from alligator meat - are similarly popular).
Viator has a few tours in the Florida Everglades, along with lots of other tours and things to do in Florida.
