What an experience! Thanks to a wonderful guide, Peter!
This is an enjoyable day trip but there is a lot of time spent in the coach. We only had 7 people on the tour and our tour guide was terrific. He changed the order of the day, after consulting with everyone, because it was a Sunday and there would be lots of traffic. So we went to Strasbourg the furthest destination for he day first. It made sense. We had at most 2 hours in Strasbourg. There was a little free time. We didn't do the canal cruise as advertised in the itinerary but did a mini train trip throughout the town, which was probably better than a canal cruise but I'm sure it didn't cost as much. At the Black Forest we had lunch but there was no time to walk around the lake. Baden-Baden was interesting and our guide took us on a walking tour of the town but most places were closed by the time we got there. Some time spent by ourselves would have been nice. Overall a pleasant day.
As many others have also said, the tour is a little rushed, but a lovely places to visit - so the rush cant be helped! Ours was a very nice tour guide. Just to note, in Baden-Baden, we did not exactly enter the casino - i was not really interested in it, so was happy with that, but maybe can be more clear in the details published.
The tour was well planned and comfortable. Our tour guide, Peter, happened to be a very knowledgeable and friendly person, who took care to ensure that we enjoyed our trip. Highly recommended.
Fantastic! Worth our money! All hotels mostly are in Mariott and good hotels, though there are some not but its about the city availability. Well managed, highly recommended! Stressful and adventurous trip...
The Rhine Falls are a must. The rainbow created through the mist generated by the falls is a sight not to be missed. The Black Forest and the beautiful Swiss countryside were also impressive. The guide was very informative and friendly. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed that sights on this tour. Lake Titisee is beautiful and the Falls, while not big on a world scale, was very pretty and the boat ride up to the falls was fun.
even though it was a long drive, but it was worth the ride. The trip was very nice and enjoyed every place we visited.Nice History and nice scenery, even though I would prefer that we had a better car so the trip will be more comfortable. The guide was exceptional and helpful and informative. He didn't spare any effort to show us all key points.
The trip to the Black Forest was great and the cake the best!! The Rhine Falls boat trip was worth the extra cost only down side was our tour guide was just going through the motions and she did not seem to be enjoying her job. The coach driver was wonderful and kept us nice and safe over very winding roads and the scenery was beautiful. The tour of the cookoo clock factory was also interesting.
Nice town, however the time given at the town is too short. Rhine falls is a must go in my opinion, great experience!
Although the group was small the guide was cheerful about her work. She was also helpful. The tour was well organised and the experience was a good one.
Our guide for this tour was Peter,a really nice guy.Ours was a party of seven. We travelled in a van driven by Peter himself.
It was a rainy day so an umbrella is a must-pack item for this tour as we would be doing a lot of walking around.
Our first stop was Baden-Baden.We really loved the elegance and sophistication of the town. This would definitely be my dream retirement place-with its the lovely buildings,tree-lined avenues, boutiques, and thermal baths...
We saw the famous Kurhaus Casino.Peter told us we would have to be formally dressed to be allowed access there.
Then we travelled through the dark Black Forest woods to Lake Mummelsee.Unfortunately,it was a rainy, foggy day so we were not able to enjoy the otherwise lovely view on our journey through the woods.
The old man from the office had so kindly packed some yummy sandwiches for us to savour on our journey there.Bless this kind soul!
At Lake Mummelsee we did some shopping-cuckoo clocks, souvenirs and tasted the very delicious Black Forest Cake at the restaurant there.
Peter next drove us to Strasbourg which is on the French side of the France-Germany border. At Strasbourg we visited the Notre Dame cathedral and saw the astronomical clock there.Peter said they play lovely hymns on an organ in the evenings there but we were not so lucky then.
We hopped on the mini train that took us around through the historical town centre of this UNESCO World Heritage listed site of La Petite France. We enjoyed the lovely sights and took some lovely pics of the historical buildings.
Afterwards we did more some shopping for souvenirs before starting on our journey home.
There was a bad jam on the motorway due to road construction works and the IAA fair in Frankfurt. Our journey home took 2 hours' more than expected.
Peter was so kind he dropped us off whereever we requested as it was pretty late.
I strongly recommend this tour as a must-see to visitors in Frankfurt.
Everything was well organised and punctual.
If you can do Rhine falls only, go for it. There's not much to do in Black Forest. On top of that, we found our tour guide very mechanical.
The tour was okie dokie..nothing great as you just visit a town in black forest and then on the way back you get top visit RhineFall. But it takes you to the falls via boat and not at the most beautiful spot where you can stand next to it. So a disappointment.
Plus tour starts very late ie at 12:30 in the afternoon so you waste full day actually.
I am not sure why I am giving this two stars instead of one. The tour guide talked down to us, giving orders about what, when and where, including 'after this only then will I tell you that'. The whole point of the tour seemed to be to sell cuckoo clocks after an interesting albeit brief demonstration of making them and their history. This was my fifth trip to Germany and the town of Titisee is the only time I have encountered German rude to tourists. That was the male cashier at a local corner market specializing in cheeses, Black Forest hams, beverages and some souvenirs. I was both annoyed and amused, the latter because I did not let on to him in listening to him direct the box-boy that I speak some German. Of course, in fairness, that is not the fault of the tour, but is an outcome from it. I have taken tours like this, from cruise ships, and Hop-on, Hop-off. This was the only time I have ever heard a tour guide mention tipping, ostensibly for the bus driver, who was overly friendly I thought, and implicitly for herself. I had been to Rhine Falls before and found myself directing a fellow tour passenger where to go to get on the boat. The guide's only instruction was to hurry. I would not do this one again neither would I recommend it.
Tour guide Ana was great and informative. The views on the way too and from Titisee through the Black Forest were awesome. Cuckoo clock demonstration was interesting and do yourself a favor and get a piece of Black Forest Cake while there. Boat ride at the Rhine falls got you up close and personal with the falls.

Our guide Peter was outstanding. We had a small group of 7, he took the time to walk with us through the streets of Baden Baden and Heidelburg. He always made us stay while he went and got the mini van and save us from walking the extra mile. Outstanding service by Peter, he never rushed us and provided excellent commentary on Heidelberg, Baden-Baden and Black forest. Ask for Peter, it will be worth it.
Doing what: Heidelberg and Baden-Baden Tour from Frankfurt
4 1/2 stars. Very good tour, well organised, managed and lead by the tour guide Dirk. My only criticisms were i some of the hotels did not have air-conditioning, which was uncomfortable in South Germany in August it might be better at cooler times of the year, ii the air-conditioning on the bus could be temperamental, iii on the final day I was expecting a panoramic city tour of Frankfurt, but we just spent a longer time in Rudesheim instead, before dropping people off in Frankfurt. I wasn't sure whether to rate the tour 4 or 5 stars - 4 1/2 - but generally recommended.
A fantastic day trip from Frankfurt. Though a full on itinerary, it was well planned out and covered the best bits of the region. Our guide Peter was excellent, his expertise, knowledge and helpful recommendations made the tour a really memorable one. We would definitely recommend this tour.
Excellent views and a great trip covering Black forest and Rhine falls
The trip was great but it would have been better if we were given more time to spend in Titisee and that the shops near Rhine Falls were still open.
A bit rushed. Perhaps they could have managed the time better to give us a chance to look around the little village a bit more. The falls were amazing, though!
Beautiful town and countryside! We loved seeing the quintessential German forest and countryside. George was a great tour guide too.
Trip was beautiful. Our tour guide Richard was excellent and informative. It is a long day but saw a lot.
