Our first touch of snow...........considering our family at home were suffering through over 40 degree heat we were loving the temperature. Highly recommend to anyone; even those who THINK they may fear heights!!! loved it.... only thing.... wish it took a little longer.... ;-)

Our scheduled flight was cancelled due to weather and were asked to return in the afternoon....cancelled again.
We were allowed to try again the following day, so we were booked in for the lunch time flight and on a standby for the morning flight.
There were two seats available in the morning, so up we went to the Glacier. Superb views and the guide gave everyone so much interesting information. Alas, never enough time. We are so glad we held in there as it turned out when we got back that the lunchtime flight was cancelld to to heavy winds up on the glacier.
My advice if you are looking to go on this tour is give yourself a couple of days, so if the weather plays up you still stand a chance of getting onto the glacier. We would have been so dissapointed if we left without completing this part of a fantastic holiday.
Viator personnel were extremely helpful and understanding and the glacier walk was stunning.....a must do!

Hi
We were seated in the back seat behind the pilot and could hardly get a decent view throughout the flight. I have registered a complaint with your customer care team. Expected a lot more for the price paid! Would only recommend to others if they were able to get a front see in the helicopter.

If they had said it was this good we would not have believed them.
The weather forecast was not good but it turned out a lovely morning (at least when we flew). Enough safety management to give confidence but not boring. We had walked to Fox glacier the day before but it did not prepare us for this amazing flight and landing on the Glacier. Can't think of words good enough to describe the experience of helicopter flight, close views of the mountains and glaciers and a great pilot making it exciting but not frightening. Go and experience it if you think this is an exaggeration.

Doing what: Franz Josef Glacier Valley Walk
This was great value for money - not only did we get a good 3hr hour guided walk but also passes to get into the hot water pools which would have cost us 20 dollars each! We were also given a DVD about Franz Joseph so all in all a wonderful morning spent in a beautiful area of NZ.

This was the highlight of my trip to New Zealand, i would highly recommend it to others. It was definitely worth the price and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed it. Our guide was excellent on the day.

Incredible opportunity. Awesome views from both the helicopter and the glacier. Great guides who made it feel very exciting yet safe and gave a wealth if information about the glacier, how it formed, changes etc.

Awesome. I rate it as one of the top ten experiences in my life. Well wort the money in hindsight it is actually very reasonable. As Franz Joseph glacier is disappearing very rapidly the view from the ground would have been a bit disappointing if I hadn' first seen it from the air. A must do!!!

good introduction to glacier.it was my first time ever seeing a glacier so i was very excited about this trip.our guide was very nice and they have loads of information about franz josef, the heilcopter ride is also cool as you have to fly onto the glacier before walking on it.try not to bring too much stuff with you as they limit what you can bring with you due to health and safety on the helicopter.this trip would suit any age and the walk moderate to easy.wear lots of sunscreen and sun glasses as the glare of sun off ice can burn you very fast,we walked around 12 pm in january and it was very warm.if i get a chance to do any glacier walks again i will probably try something a bit more challenging.all together its excellent value.

Disgusting excursion. The helicopter line for the unclear reasons didn't execute excursion, didn't offer alternative. Weather was good, other companies flied round glaciers and organized foot walks. It was very offensive to lose because of them 2 days for nothing in New Zealand

The Helihike is an amazing experience. The staff were love what they do and it shows. If you get the opportunity to go to Franz Josef, you have to do this. Put it on your list now. It's a unique experience and I'm grateful I got do do it.
