Nuremberg
Nuremberg is one of the world’s most liveable cities and one of the most visited in Germany. The old town has a lovely medieval feel with half-timbered houses, churches, market squares and the lovely Nuremberg Castle. The old town is surrounded by about 3 miles (5 kilometers) of historic city walls.

Nuremberg is best known for its association with the Nazi party during World War II, when Hitler held all the Nazi party conventions here. In 1945, Nuremberg was heavily bombed by the Allies – about 90% of the city was destroyed in one hour. Post-war the city was reconstructed using the original stones and bricks. The war crimes trials were held here.

The central market square Hauptmarkt - dominated by the beautiful Church Frauenkirche and the Gothic fountain Schöner Brunnen (turn the gold ring three times and your wish will come true) - hosts a world famous Christmas market in December, Christkindlesmarkt Nuremburg. This is where you really see and taste what Nuremberg is most famous for: gingerbread and sausages.
