The oldest house in Glasgow, the eccentrically named Provand's Lordship was built in 1471 for the chaplain of St Nicholas Hospital.
The city's only medieval building to avoid the wrecking ball, the house is now a museum. It's a fascinating place to see period details in situ, from 16th-century furnishings to a 20th-century sweet shop. The building also hosts a series of rotating exhibitions, so drop in to see what's on.
The garden surrounding the medieval house re-creates a medicinal herb garden based on a 15th-century design.

Excellent!! There are alternating buses for the full english with a live tour guide and the recorded multi language. Each bus was about 20min apart or less. So if you want the live guide and get the recorded bus, just wait for the next one :-) Another thing is, if its your 1st time, always do the full tour first then pick the places you wanted to get off, that way you make sure you see it all.

Provand's Lordship is a short walk or bus ride east of the Glasgow city center. It's in very good company, with St Mungo's Museum opposite and Glasgow Cathedral just up the road.
