Our trip was very well organised and I learnt a lot about volcanos. It was a poor visiability day with thick vog everywhere but we still saw lots of interesting views and received so much information about your National Park.

A big day starting at about 5am, the actual volcano tour in the latter stages I found to be the most interesting, prior to that I found it boring..

Great day - lots to see!! A very long day though - be prepared for a 15 hour+ day. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. You will see a gaseous eruption at Kilauea, but don't expect to see lava flow - that's about 8 miles from the nearest road and there is definitely not enough time to fit a hike in to see it. It was a full sized tour bus, if you wanted a more tailored experience or with a smaller group, I would suggest that this isn't the tour for you, but if you are happy to be part of a larger group then you'll be happy on this one.

The tour guide was fantastic and volcanos amazing. However, the tour doesn't need to be a whole day. We really just wanted to see the volcanos, not macadamia factories or orchid farms that appeared to be "filler" stops in the morning. The tour finished 2hrs before the return flight meaning wasted time

John, our tour guide, was nice enough but not the most helpful. The hike actualyl turned out to be quite challenging. I am an avid exerciser (I run about 10 miles per week, cycle, do yoga - the whole thing) and I found it challenging, but it was especially tough for my 56 year old parents. There are lots of narrow passageways and tricky transitions between rocks. At one point you have to climb from a ladder onto a slippery, wet rock. Would have appreciated a little more attention to safety from our guide and less chit chat about how many times he's done the hike. The scenery was pretty, although not necessarily worth the trek.

The focus of this tour as advertised on Viator is the volcano. The very early start is not mentioned - 4.30am pick up from hotel for 7.30 flight. The morning was spent getting on and off a coach at tourist venues for 20 minutes at a time - following cruise ship buses full of noisy people (from the same company)! No opportunity for breakfast or drink until mid morning. The volcano itself is awesome but again we got on and off the coach between the viewpoints. It was frutrating ti stop at the national park centre with a map fo walking routes - none of which we had time to do! We could have walked the same route in a similar amount of time. If you are looking for a dedicated walk on a volcano this is not the tour for you. Several others on our trip felt they had been miss sold (not by Viator) as they expected a walking trip. If you want a dedicated walking trip to the volcano find another tour. A very long day which had highlights but a lot of sitting. A trip for the less mobile/able I would say.

Doing what: Kayak and Snorkel - Waterfall Hike and Paddle Tour
This was a wonderful day and I cannot say enough good things about it. Unfortunetly the wind was blowing so we relocated from Lahiana to Makena Landing for the kayaking and snorkelling but was not disappointed. Our guide, Gerimia was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable and we were lucky enough to see several turtles including a baby and it was a wonderful experience. The water there is so clear and such delightful shades of blue and the sealife was plentiful and amazing to see. I had never kayaked on the ocean before and will enjoy this activity again for sure.I appreciated all the tips and instructions we were given to make our experience that much better. Jake from HikeMaui then met us at the beach where we followed him to a parking lot and then hopped in the van for a wonderful,informative trip to Twin Falls. Jake, being a native Hawiian, had an amazing knowledge of the island and the history and he made the tour for sure. We were a small group of 6, but I am sure we all were so appreciative of all that he knew and of course, his wonderful, easy, sense of humor. I would take another tour with him anytime. Once we were at the falls, we had the option to swim and jump off the cliffs into the water and he was so keen and helpful. You could tell, he loves what he does. We visited two fall sights and we were all sorry when our tour was over and we had to head back. Jake even chopped up some sweet pinapple for all of us to enjoy and lunch was very good. This trip was a great balance of water and land experiences and I would recommend it to anyone. I am sure all the guides are amazing, but I would be sure to try to book with Jake anytime I could. Our day started off cloudy but the weather improved before lunch. Our guide was very informative in a casual way. She kept an eye on everyone and was friendly and helpful. The places we visited were good and we had ample time to see everything and take lots of pictures.Lunch was ok but my husband said his hamburger tasted funny and he became ill about an hour after. Another lady said her salad had an insect in it. The Macadamia farm and the Orchid farm were wonderful. Our guide spent plenty of time in the lava fields. On the way home she told island ghost stories which we all enjoyed. Tho on the pricey side it was well worth it.

The tour itself was good and our driver Nikki was excellent. The problem was with Go Airlines. We arrived about 30 minutes late in Hilo. Because some of the tour participants arrived earlier on Hawaiian Airlines, the tour left without us. We then had to wait another 30 minutes at the Hilo airport for a small bus to pick us up and take us to join the tour. Participants were scheduled to depart at different times, so we were all delivered to the airport to accommodate the earliest departures. Go Airlines was again late, so our group waited 3.5 hours at the airport for our 40 minute flight. This tour would work better if all participants used the same flights.

The tour was supposed to be a pickup at 06.00, but our pickup was at 05.00 and the return trip involved a wait at the airport of over 2 hours. The advertising talked about the possibility of seeing Lava Flow - no way known, we didn't go anywhere near the Lava Flow. Would not bother with any tour provided by this provider again.

The tour brings you to see many places you never able to find from google. For the price includes tickets and ground transportation is very economic. Recommend this tour for anyone likes to explore Big Island.

A great day with a very informative driver. The flight from Oahu on Go Hawaii was fine as was the pickup and return transportation. A long day, but well worth it.

The wording was imprecise on what you would see. I was expecting to see some volcano activity, even at a distance. None, only old lava fields. And this only late in day after wasted stops at an orchid farm and a macadamia nut farm, because they had gift shops. With wasted time at airport both ways, 3 hours coming back, I would not reccomend this tour.
