Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

A useless trip...instead of showing you the things to see in Hong Kong, first 2-3 hours are spent on a "sampan" (boat)-ride around shanty-boat-town for which you have to pay extra money direct to the operator, and then touring of a jewelry factory during which you are incited to buy jewelry at above-market prices. The only thing worth taking this trip is the ride to Victoria Peak and then the return tram-ride. Everything else is just a waste of time and money.

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

This was a really great tour to familiarize yourself with the city. Comfortable bus and informative commentary from our guide WendyYip! Relaxing morning with time for a coffee at a cafe near Stanley Markets - time for shopping as well! Up to the peak and down by tram. An enjoyable activity!

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

This was a good way to see Hong Kong island in one go, especially as i had a flight to catch later that day. The best was saved til the last by going to Victoria Peak then coming down the tram. That was really fun! Thank you

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

An excellent introduction to Hong Kong, although we took the tour on our last day due to the Peak tram being out of service before this date. Loved the stop at Aberdeen and the sampan ride, at least we got to see the floating restaurant and a hint of what it's like living on the water. Stanley area was very scenic and the markets were great, very different from Temple Street and the Ladies Market and had different items on offer. Less time could have been spent at the jewellery factory. Overall a well run and enjoyable tour.

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

This tour was ok as a quick introduction to Hong Kong. I did not enjoy the visit to the jewellery factory and our visit to the Peak was a bit of a let down because the tram was not operating and the weather was bad so we could not see the view at all.

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

Good introduction to HKG, enjoyed the visit to Aberdeen Harbour and the optional sanpan trip, also enjoyed the tram ride. Did not enjoy the jewellers, not my style to be herded into a place and given the 'hard sell' . Also, the Stanley Market was just another market anywhere. The tour guide was very good but we could have done without the photographer

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

I felt this trip, while showing you good glipmses of Hong Kong Island for those on short stop, it was too focused on the 'jewellery sell' and party got split up coming back on tram so undue delay - also thought our photographer was taking shots to publicise the 'tour' not sell more goodies to us when we go to The Peak so watch for that one!!

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

Good tour. The tour guide Danny was informative and friendly but his jokes were a little bit lame! The Sampan ride at Aberdeen was great and we got some time at Victoria Peak to explore and take photos before taking the tram ride down. Also got a decent amount of time to look around Stanley markets and Repulse Bay and take photos etc. The Jewelry factory was more of a sell then an educational process - actually would have preferred to spend more time learning about how jewelry is made than being sold to. But otherwise a good tour and a great way to see the key sights in a short period of time.

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

As group tours go - this was a good one. My only complaint was the stop at the Jewelry factory/outlet. I would have preferred much more of the art of making the jewelry rather than an outright outlet shopping experience. Other than that the tour was great. The guide was knowledgeable an entertaining. The Sampan ride (extra fee), tram ride and trip to the Stanley Marketplace was great. It was a very efficient way to see a lot of different areas of Hong Kong and then to know where you wanted to return and explore further. Overall great tour.

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

This is a great orientation for Hong Kong. The tour guide provided excellent backround information and the general itinerary is worthwhile to see the key points of interest. My favourite items were the sampan ride on Victroria harbour to taste some of the history of Hong Kong, the Stanley Markets and the view from the Peak with the Tramway ride down to Hong Kong island. A good tour.

Doing what: See Hong Kong and Macau Attractions Pass

Tried to pick up paid for pass at airport - staff were not at all informative - didn't know what it was - and then tried to make us pay for it - received no list of attractions (unfortunately we had forgotten to download list before we left on our holiday) neither did we receive a pocket size book of details and maps. Not much more helpful at the BIg Bus place - until going there a second time to validate the pass - with this lack of info we were not able to use the pass to its full advantage - as we didn't have the time - we did go on the Bus tour of both Hong Kong and Kowloon which we found great - and the pass for the Peak tram - if only to avoid the long long queues to buy a ticket.
Feel it would/could have been good value if we had been given the information as detailed when we booked the pass.

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

Quite a good tour. Some good spots visited, including and optional short trip on a genuine junker type boat and a stop at stanley market and the peak including tram ride down the hill. My only problm with this tour was the stop at a local jewellery 'factory' which is obviously a business arrangment with the tour company. The sales people were not pushy but this stop definately took the shine off this trip.

f you are looking for sightseeing rather than just shopping or theme park in Hong Kong, the See Hong Kong Pass is a very good choice and provides huge savings. 1-day pass costs only $399 and I did 4 activities which are worth around $700, quite a good deal, right?

I started the day early and joined a Big Bus Tour (Hong Kong Island). The bus took me to the Peak Tram Station where I did a free round trip of the Peak Tram. And then headed to the Kowloon side to have a free Dim Sum lunch at a very cool Chinese restaurant. Got some time left, I did some shopping at the Kowloon station shopping mall and then went to the DHL Hong Kong Balloon nearby to see the beautiful skyline of the city at 100m high.

As I travel by myself, I really love to explore the city and get to try every as much as possible. Great that the pass has around free 20 activities to choose from , so it is quite flexible for trip planning. If I got one more day, I will definitely get a 2-day pass to see more, especially the Big Bus Stanley Tour and the wine tasting activity!

If you are short of time the half day tour is a must do.Gives you a really good look around different parts of Hong Kong. Aberdeen and the Jumbo restaurant was fun as was Stanley market. The "peak" is a must and the tram journey down was not to be missed.Good value for money tour.

Doing what: Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour

The day began slowly with having to pick up people from 4 hotels. this then left less time for other things. the tour went to a jewelry place that was totally unaffordable. this took over an hour the consequence of which meant that we only had 45 minutes at Stanley Market, no time to see anything. Very disappointing. the first stop was a boat trip on a Sampan. The boat driver could not speak English until she demanded everyone pay more money. We thought this tour had all all expenses paid, e.g boat ride. We travelled then to Victoria Peak and had a very quick look around and a tram ride down and this was it. Not a lot of history of Hong Kong or interesting places. In total, a boat ride that cost us, then a jewelry place, Stanley market for 45 minutes only, up to Victoria peak and down in a tram. Too much time on the bus, then we needed an hour to drop everyone off again.Really not happy, nor were others on the bus with us.
