Doing what: Symphony of Lights Hong Kong Harbor Night Cruise

Nice way to get the most out of the Symphony of Lights as well as the harbor!!! Highly recommended for everyone, especially on their first night in Hong Kong!!!

Good to view from Felix at the top of The Peninsula with a cold drink in your hand, worthwhile for older kids too. From 8pm for 15 minutes

A very good view of the symphony of lights plus a good harbor cruise.

I enjoyed the Symphony of Lights however was disappointed with the type of junk used for the cruise. I Had imagined it would be a junk with sails and no roof. It was however a large boat with a roof which constricted the view of the lights, especially as they display from both sides of the harbour. I did notice a junk with sails lit up in red and cruises the harbour each night. This type of vessel would be a better option for a cruise such as this.

Doing what: Symphony of Lights Hong Kong Harbor Night Cruise

Bit disappointed by the Symphony of Lights. Also felt a little harassed by the barman as everytime we went up a drink (which were included) he gesticulated at the tip box. The harbour itself is stunning.

Very organized and they gave very clear instructions so we knew exactly where to go and what time we needed to be at the meeting place.

The unlimited drinks were great too. There was a wide range of choices.

We were however disappointed with the Symphony of Lights view. If this is the main reason for going on the cruise it would be better I think to stay within the pier area.

The harbour tour that came after the symphony was very educational. It gave very good information on what was what in main city Hongkong.

Doing what: Symphony of Lights Hong Kong Harbor Night Cruise

The waiting place is not signed at all but the tour people had left a sticker at our motel to wear on the night so we saw other people with them on and knew we were in the right place. After the Symphony of Lights, you go to pick up people from the floating restaurant and do a tour of the harbour. It went for a long time and glad to have free sodas although the server was very crabby. My husband gets very sea sick and he was fine on this boat in average weather.

Symphony of Lights is not the main part of the trip, but just driving around the harbour is nice.

Doing what: Symphony of Lights Hong Kong Harbor Night Cruise

The tour started out fine...except that there was no-one at the pier to greet any of the people going on the tour.
The tour started our promising. There was a commentary about the Symphony of Lights we were about to see and that that there was an open bar. The Symphony of Lights was good and we enjoyed that. Then we moved down the river whilst being given a commentary about the history of Hong Kong. We ended up at a dock to pick up a large group of people who had gone out for dinner. Aparently as per the announcer on the boat, we were giving them a lift back ..... unfortunately a majority of them were already intoxicated and it made the atmosphere on the boat not as pleasant as it was at the beginning of the tour. It became loud and noisy. What started out as a lovely peaceful cruise of the river ended up like a Contiki Tour. The whole tour lasted 1.5hrs. The first half of the tour was great but unfortunately it deterioated after that. I was glad to get of that loud party boat and enjoy the lights of the city from the dock instead.

Symphony of Lights was well done and view of the city from the harbour was very good. However the boat was shabby, the toilet did not flush, the complementary snack was pitiful and the barman was rude. On the positive side, other staff were helpful when getting on/off.

Doing what: Symphony of Lights Hong Kong Harbor Night Cruise

The Symphony of Lights was not up to our expectations. As a symphony, it could have been coordinated so the light dance would play in concert to the music. It was more a play of lights by individual building. We did not see a lot of search lights; some of the buildings have ceased participating.

Doing what: Symphony of Lights Hong Kong Harbor Night Cruise

I wasn't overly impressed with this trip because you can basically see the symphony of lights from the shore. We were annoyed because the tour rep was suppose to meet us at the Clock Tower and didn't come to get us. It was only by chance that we managed to source the boat ourselves by following a couple who were wearing the same tour badge as what we had been given.

Doing what: Symphony of Lights Hong Kong Harbor Night Cruise

This tour is a waste of time and money. The Symphony of Lights display was disappointing and could be viewed just as well from the shore. The Harbor Cruise thereafter was, quite frankly, boring! Unless of course all one wanted to do was drink the free booze!
