Doing what: Guangzhou (Canton) China Day Trip from Hong Kong
We enjoyed the trip to China and the guide was very knowledgeable about what he showed us on the trip. We did feel sorry for the panda as it looked very lonely and sad.

Doing what: Guangzhou (Canton) China Day Trip from Hong Kong
I did not see the point in the visit to the kindergarten, and felt uncomfortable. I was also disappointed that there were only three terracotta soldiers, which where a front for a state shop selling crafts, although the goods on offer where of very good value and where of a high standard. The zoo animals where kept in very poor conditions, and the panda was old and moth eaten. We expected to see more countryside and possibly traditional farms and villages, but spent two hours driving by development sites at the side of the road. We then had a mediocre meal and a very short walk through a traditional market, which was the most interesting part of the day. The visit to the second souvenir shop was unnecessary and a waste of time. We should have seen a lot more of grass roots china. The local Chinese guide was very good, but we wish he would have spent more time talking about Chinese culture and history rather than the great Chinese economic miracle.

Doing what: Guangzhou (Canton) China Day Trip from Hong Kong
A great tour. We were handed our papers, stickers for the tour as we walked into our hotel. It was amazing. They must be psychic. Everything followed on from there - very efficient people, especially going through customs in China and keeping a large group of people of various ages together. The China experience itself was great though a little scary. We are very glad we went but probably won't return in a hurry.

Everything was just fine except that the food we got for lunch in China wasn't tasty.

Doing what: Guangzhou (Canton) China Day Trip from Hong Kong
Going to China was an experience not to be missed; however, parts of the trip were overrated, particularly the warriors and the panda. We would have loved more time at the zoo for a good wander around. We find different zoos so fascinating. As for the warriors, well, we would have loved to take photos. The rest of the trip was really an insight to the Chinese way of life and the culture. The tour guides were informative and even stressed how to get through passport control easily. The bus and train trips were long, but you can't get far in two hours in Australia either.

There is a lot of travelling on this tour. Photographing the children at the local kindergarten made us feel a bit uncomfortable. The elderly panda at the zoo was coaxed by zoo staff to move in order that photographs could be taken, which also made us uncomfortable. The lunch and the visits to the local market, the Memorial Hall of Dr Sun Yat Sen, and the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees made this trip definitely worth doing. The tour guides were excellent throughout. This trip provides a brief glimpse of life in China.

Doing what: Guangzhou (Canton) China Day Trip from Hong Kong
This was an excellent experience with not only an extremely knowledgeable guide, but other local guides as well. I would highly recommend it, except take off the zoo stop. There was just one elderly panda. I did not like the bear that was posed for a photo with any tourist, as the bear was attached with a mouth ring. My family felt sorry for the creatures here. However we felt privileged to see the Terra Cotta warriors, to see the old and the new buildings, to learn about China and its customs, to walk an open market. It was a memory beyond words.

The trip into China was fascinating and most certainly worthwhile for anyone who wants a taster experience. China was not what I expected at all. The streets were cleaner, the people were courteous and friendly, the food we sampled was delicious. It has made me want to book a long trip to China to see much more of the country. Thank you to the team, your organisation made everything hassle free and gave us 'tourists' time to relax and enjoy the whole experience.

One of the most interesting tours we have taken. We had excellent tour guides in both Hong Kong and China. If you can only do one tour to China from Hong Kong, this is it.

The trip was great and it gave me lots of insight into China - enough to make me book a complete tour for next year. The only downfall is that this tour entails a lot of traveling to get there and back, for one day.
