A half day is not a great deal of time to see much of anything, but Viatour came through with this tour, providing a good overview of the city, the information on the sites and much, much more. Thoroughly enjoyed and for anyone who has very limited time available, this is a good tour to take.
Convenient pick-up point right outside the cruise port was fabulous but if you are wanting to only go to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque and Hadj Sophia, this is the last stop on the tour and you could be wasting your valuable time. Loved the online booking option which works very well. Tell your bus driver where you what you want to see as it can get rather overwhelming and the distances are far between the hop-off points and a lot of it is up-hill.
The cruise was great. I wish I had more time to walk around at the spice bazaar but it was a good experience.
We really like the hop-on hop-off tours.
Two things to improve though:
1. Half tour we had to do it in the first floor and it is not so interesting.
2. Some times the audios are boring. I think it would be nicer if it is a conversation or like a radio show... anything that gets the attention all the time.
Our guide was good, although a little repetitive. He gave us great tips on shopping at the Bazaar. The boat cruise was just the right length and very informative.
Very little commentary on the cruise and we were glad we had taken coats as it was quite windy. The spice bazaar was really interesting - better than the Grand Bazaar - although do haggle for prices. We learnt the hard way!!
Very good trip only slightly spoilt by the amount of heavy traffic giving us concern about getting back to our cruise ship on time.
The staff were helpful and polite and the bus was fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the commentary and music and like the fact you could select different languages.
Visit to spice bazaar too short. Bosphorus cruise about right. Visit to rug store interesting. Fair value for the money.
We met the bus at Taksim Square with not too much difficulty finding the booth--we did have to ask a few people.
The bus was fine but the headphone commentary was fuzzy at times which made it difficult to hear. The destinations were varied and the people somewhat helpful. I have been on this type of sightseeing in other major cities such as Paris and it compares.
The tour by his own was great, the 2nd guide was very friendly. The routes show you the best highlights of the city, would for sure recommend it.
