The tour was great. Food is good too!
Excellent!!! Our 2 days spent with Hakin was perfect!!! He answered all of our questions and was pleasant to be with. He was professional, knowledgeable and delightful. We saw everything that we wanted to see and felt very comfortable at all times. The van and driver was 5 star as well. I highly recommend Viator and will definitely use them again! our tour and guide went beyond our expectations!
What a day! It was tremendous. All the highlights and then the back alleys. Wonderful lunch. Our guide was absolutely top notch. Worth every Penney and sore ankle.
This was an awesome and fast-paced tour of Istanbul in a day. Definitely a great choice for us as we had a short stay in Istanbul and covered all the important sights in Istanbul including the Bosphorus cruise. Our guide Dilan was amazing in all ways and we were wonderstruck by her in depth knowledge of all the sights, people, architecture and more. We were a small group of 4 and hence able to stay together in the crowded Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar. There is not much time for shopping but you get time to taste the Turkish delights and get on the rooftop to shoot amazing views of Istanbul. The lunch in a café was very good and we ended the tour on a rooftop café near the Galata tower.
The whole tour from start to finish was superb value for money. My only little negative comments would be that the tour company need to make themselves more known when meeting their customers first thing in the morning and they need to ensure that the audio system is fully functional for the whole day. The breakdown of the audio system was the only blight. This was a well packed in tour with lots of walking but it was well worth it. Our tour guide was excellent she took plenty of time out keep to explain all the history around each location and some lesser known gems of info to boot. Would definitely book through Viator for any tours in Turkey.
I recommand it
This was far beyond my expectations. If you have limited time in Istanbul this is the tour for you.
Interesting, beautiful view, very knowledgebile Guide, well organized.
This tour was absolutely fantastic. Our tour guide, Dilan, was brilliant. We had the best day. If you want to really get to know the city, like a local, you MUST do this tour. We got to see and visit all the main sites including the blue mosque, Hagia sophia, basilica, grand bazaar and spice market. The tour also included a delicious turkish feast and a boat ride on the river. We just loved that Dilan was so personable and really intelligent, knowledgeable tour guide. If I would rate this tour even higher I would. Thank you so much Dilan for a wonderful day!
Excellent tour guide. Very pleasant tour.
This trip was a really enjoyable surprise. We had half a day to fill and this trip was a perfect way to see beyond Istanbul as it was well organised, provided a tasty lunch and excellent commentary along the way.
This tour was good. It included a lot of great things to do in Istanbul and was a nice way to spend the day. Our guide was very knowledgable, but I wouldn't say professional exactly. I would recommend it to a friend.
the beauty of traveling with a small group is you get more chances to interact with the guide, less time wasting on waiting for your peers who definitely tour with a different pace. this is my second time to Istanbul and i still find it amazing. the highlight is the Bosphorus cruise even though weather was not really on our side. there was still a line to Hagia Sophia but it moved fast so it wasn't that bad.
Dylan our tour guide was excellent. Patient and friendly. Super helpful as well. Time spent at locations were too short. Hope Topkapi Palace and Hippodrome was part of tour since it's in same vicinity. Overall was satisfied.
Great hosts, very informative. Nice boat. The stop on Asia side is nice but watch out for the lady that monitors the public restroom. If you dont pay her 1 lira she will hit you.
It was good and well managed tour. : will recommend.
The Bosphorus at night is breath-taking to see the landmarks and waterfront houses illuminated is really a cool experience - I've previously gone on a sunset cruise and preferred the experience at night. This tour offers a hotel pick up and drop off, which was a nice perk. The boat we were on was on the higher-end, spacious with working, non-stinky toilets and wasn't filled to capacity. The entertainment was funny the belly dancing with audience participation was especially cringe-worthy - men, beware. Drinks were house wines, beers and spirits and were served throughout the evening. The food was very mediocre and I fell ill afterwards a major ding for the tour. Only other ding was that the tour felt like it was an hour too long it started at 8:30 and we docked around midnight.
Too much time wasted in the Bus, I would recommend that you do this yourself.
The van tour of the Golden Horn was a tour of the congested highways of Istanbul. We didnt leave the car once. It would of been good if we had planned photo opportunities.
This tour also ran an hour late which i was only informed by our guide once we were on the boat on the Bosphoros. I had my flight home booked in the afternoon. Since it ran overtime, it caused me a lot of stress to get to the airport on time.
Doing what: Morning Bosphorus and Golden Horn Cruise
It was over-all a disappointment.
1 To get to the pier, you would need to JAYWALK across a main road with fast-paced vehicles
The travel agency provided a vehicle for hotel pick-up, but we had no idea that the vehicle will not lead us straight to the pier we had to cross that dangerous road in the middle of the night. I almost got hit by a car.
2 Food was terrible
Turkey is known for its superb delicacies, but what was offered to us was visually unappetizing and just plain unsavory and hardly edible.
3 Cruise was jampacked.
There was no elbow room whatsoever. No personal space to speak of. I was expecting a spacious dining hall, but we were cramped into a long table and forced to mingle with people seated just an inch or two next to us. A can of sardines - that was how it was. Extremely uncomfortable.
4 Cultural performance left much to be desired
I was hoping the cultural performance would redeem the entire Bosphorus Cruise experience - but I was too optimistic for my own good.
When you think of a Belly-dancing show in Turkey - wouldn't you naturally expect a Turkish woman to perform? But no, what we got was an Asian woman. I am Asian. I don't intend to malign my own race. In fairness to the performer, she was good. But since we were in Turkey, we were expecting a more authentic Turkish show.
5 Limited viewing of cultural performance
The only ones who could actually watch the entirety of the performance were those who were fortunate enough to get seated around the stage. The rest of us had to stand. What is annoying is that we were asked to return to our seats when we got a bit closer to the stage. We hardly saw the performance. I told one of the staff that we had to approach because we could barely see the show, and he pointed to the televisions positioned in selected areas, which also captures the entire performance. Why the hell would we watch the show on TV when the show is right before us?
BAD EXPERIENCE. WASTE OF MONEY.
The company for this tour was Plan tours. I found them to be very impersonal, by Turkish standards. I was picked up at my hotel on time, but the guide rushed ahead of me and never spoke to me until we got to the bus, when she pointed for me to get on. No surnames are used, so they referred to you as the man/woman from xyz hotel. We were rushed to another meeting point, where we were rushed to board another bus. The guide was older and spoke English with a heavy accent, so while he was speaking about landmarks and Istanbul history, it was a struggle to understand him the ENTIRE tour. He also seemed bored with his work. Frustrating. The Bosphorus cruise was wonderful, but was clouded by the snack attendant who shoved snacks to several people and then asked for money. He did not even offer me snacks and then argued with me about giving him money. I had to complain to our tour guide, as did several other people on the tour. We were taken to Pierre Loti which was a beautiful experience. However, we only had 20 minutes to basically use the restroom and take a few pictures. We were then rushed on the cable car for a 1 minute ride DOWN. The ride through the Jewish quarter was rushed and in the dark, making it hard to see anything, so combined with a guide who was difficult to understand, it was a total waste of time. Except for the Bosphorus tour and actually being at Pierre Loti, this tour was disappointing. I will avoid Plan tours in the future. When I return to Istanbul, I will use other company for a Bosphorus cruise and get to Pierre Loti on my own.
nice experience. The Fortress is so beatiful!
The personal touch.
