Doing what: Naples and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
I had very high hopes for this day trip since the other two tours I booked for my time in Rome were great. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The tour guide was not very warm and welcoming. The tour of Naples was literally just the bus trying to navigate the traffic jams while our guide just tried to point things out as best he could. I was very disappointed because I felt we did not get to truly experience the city of Naples. The tour of the Coral shop was also lackluster. The explanation was less than a minute and then we were ushered into a room that felt like a tourist trap for 300-1000 Euro jewelry. Pompeii was the only redeeming factor our tourguide there was wonderful and Pompeii was amazing but looking back I could have saved 100$ by taking the train and touring myself. Overall I would NOT suggest this tour.

Doing what: Naples and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
Excellent tour. We were picked up at our hotel then joined the rest of the tour group. Great guide on bus, driver, and local guide at the site. 2 hours actually walking in the ancient city of Pompeii, a dream come true. Highly recommend this tour.

Doing what: Naples and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
Pompeii was perfect! Our guide tour was the best; however, Naples was a terrible experience, nothing to do with the guide, but the city itself is a chaos.

Doing what: Naples and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
A friend and I went on the day trip from Rome to Naples/Pompeii. While Pompeii is worth seeing, I would not recommend doing so with this Tour Operator. This is partially because they actually left us in Pompeii to head back to Rome, as it was the last stop. After the tour, we went to the bathroom and were gone for no longer than ten minutes. As we were searching for the bus we saw it speeding up the onramp to the highway. I had their office number so I had to call them to come back for us. This was particularly infuriating because they told us to go to the bathroom and “have a limoncello” at the local hotel (which we didn’t do) and gave us no time frame to return to the bus. They also made no effort to find or wait for us. As for the tour itself, they gave us a haphazard bus tour of Naples that they narrated before heading to Pompeii. Pompeii was enjoyable with our eccentric tour guide leading the way. I would recommend going to see the ancient city, but I would definitely do so with a different (and more professional) tour company.

Doing what: Naples City and Pompeii Half Day Sightseeing Tour
This tour met our needs during a quick 48 hour stopover in Naples. We booked the tour last minute. The representative I spoke with on the phone was courteous and clear about trip details. Our driver picked us up at our hotel promptly at 8:30. The Mercedes mini-bus was new and very clean and the driver courteous and friendly. We spent time touring Duomo di San Gennaro and then drove to other key buildings and stopped for some amazing city views before we picked up additional tourists to join us for the Pompeii portion of the tour.
Our guide, Maria, provided a great overview of how life was in Pompeii. We were able to tour the theater, Gladiators Barracks, Stabian Baths, House of Faun, Buildings of Eumachia, and Lupanari to name a few. Maria's comments were insightful pointing out many details along the way, things we would have overlooked if we were touring by ourselves. If you want to spend time wandering through Pompeii, don't take this tour. But if you want an informative overview without any worries, TAKE THIS TOUR! My experience with this Viator tour was outstanding.

Doing what: Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
This tour was well worth the money spent! The guides were great especially at Pompeii. You got an appreciation for both the city and the people who are working with great skill to save the site for future generations. You got so much more out of a view of daily life than if you just wandered the site and guessed at the rooms and artifacts. The Naples museum was an excellent finish to it all.

Doing what: Naples and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
Definitely worth the day excursion. Well informed tour guides. There was so much to look at in the maze of the city, the guides were a plus to make it thru everything. Took us all over Pompeii. Lunch was a nice touch, but wasn't impressed with the selection. Would have been nice to have the radio headsets for the pompeii tour, like the colosseum tour had.

Doing what: Naples and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
Naples was really a very beautiful city. Pompeii was also a wonderful ancient place. The tour guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. Just a quick reminder for those people who are afraid of dogs like me that there are a lot of dogs there.

Doing what: Naples City and Pompeii Half Day Sightseeing Tour
Pompeii was the highlight of this tour. Our tour guide was fantastic. He was able to help you understand what life was like back then. Walking through the city streets of Pompeii was amazing. Although I would not suggest taking kids on this tour. There were some pretty explicit images. But overall very much worth the money.

Doing what: Naples City and Pompeii Half Day Sightseeing Tour
The Naples City and Pompeii tour was stunningly beautiful. The guide and driver took us to see the top sights in Naples including a gorgeous view of the bay; followed by the in-depth tour of Pompeii. I found the guide to be very easy to understand, and a pleasure listening to. I highly recommend this tour to any traveler considering a visit to southern Italy. You will not be disappointed!

Doing what: Pompeii Half-day Trip from Naples
The tour was great but our guide seemed to be too far ahead of the slow walkers of the group and we missed out on a lot of the information, the City of Pompeii is AMAZING and would love to spend more time there. Next time I would get a map and do a self guided tour....

Doing what: Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
This trip was absolutely rocking!! Every thing was manged and done as promised. The bus journey to POmpeii was about 2hrs n was comfy. Our tour guide,Ashley, was both informative and helpful. Pompeii was more than what I could have imagined. Here we had another great guide who took us around the doomed ancient city. We went in mid Oct so the weather was perfect. We did not even need a light jacket during the day although the morning was nippy. This was followed by lunch at Naples where we were served great Naples pizzas, complimentary Italian wine, salad and breads. Vesuvius was our next destination-about 30 mins drive by bus. The climb to the crater(on foot) was tiring (about 20 mins) and steep but the view was rewarding. My kids loved it. All in all it was a fab experince and well worth it. Just wished we had some more time at Pompeii .

Doing what: Naples and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
This tour was one I was looking forward to the most but it was my least favorite. I had hooped we would see more in Naples and rather than going to the cameo factory including more of that city would have been nice.Pompeii was great but our guide was a little crusty . I ws impressed with how many languages the both knew to try tocommunicate ighppoints to all of us.

Doing what: Pompeii Half-day Trip from Naples
Pompeii is amazing, and we were very happy that we had selected the private tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the city, and had a way of making you want to listen to every word.

Doing what: Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
This was our first time on a Viator trip and it was fantastic, it was easy to book, all arrangements were clearly explained and the trip itself was organised excellent! Vesuvius was an experience I wont forget although not that steep. There is a long incline to the top but it is well worth the hike! Pompeii was just something else we were so taken with this city. The guide was very knowlegdeable as was our tour guide Sarah on the coach. We would certainly recommend this trip and Viator themselves. Excellent!
