Very educational tour. But I wish we visited the museum to see the cast of ancient findings. We only saw 2 at the city of Pompeii. But still the tour is worth every penny!
When you walk up the mount Vesuvius and look down.... It's breath taking.. I think we shot 300 foto's just from up there...
The guides were very educated about Pompeii n Rome, and they were very friendly and super helpful.... Lunch was tasty! Pizza done naple style!
Thank you, we had an excellent time!

We totally enjoyed this day of walking in the middle of history. It is a lot of walking (which they warn you of) and a long bus ride from Rome but the scenery was worth it (saw the Appian Way). Our tour guide was really good and knew his stuff (along with speaking four languages....impressive). He knew some great stories and made the tour interesting. All the effort it took to climb steep stairs and hop across huge rocks that the Romans called streets was well worth it. You can literally feel a chill down your spine viewing the remains of some of the residents of Pompeii and imagining what happened when Vesuvius poured its wrath down on this city.

Pompeii was incredible without any reservations, well worth the tour. Tour guide was nice and fairly knowledgeable, so enjoyed the tour guide. The problem is visiting Naples, we stopped at a port side for brief 10 minutes, where perhaps we could have skipped the coral store shop and stopped at the mid city to go walk for a quick 15-20 min tour within the very nice shopping center at mid city.

The tour was excellent and a good value for the price. It was well organized, on schedule, convenient pickup/dropoff at hotel, comfortable bus, properly paced for us to see and enjoy the sites, and the tour guide was very good. These sites are not easily reached or toured on your own despite what guidebooks tell you. A professional organized tour is far better, especially if you are unfamiliar with the confusing local public transporation system. Andre, the tour guide, was friendly and lighthearted but knowledgeable (in several languages) about the Pompeii Site and the Vesuvius site. Andre gave us some accurate history background and pointed out points of interest, and he was obviously interested himself in the history - not at all like the typical boring and ill-informed tourguides we often see. He was very attentive to our interests and our comfort, and he also gave us an interesting perspective on contemporary Naples as we drove through the city. There was a nice meal pre-arranged at a good restaurant instead of the expected tourist shack greasy pizza! The only disappointment was with the Pompeii site: it has been sadly neglected and only a small portion of the city is open to public viewing. All the art and historical objects have been removed to museums. Still, it is a place not to be missed. Vesuvius is a tremendous experience - a bit hard to climb the path but spectacular. I would very much recommend this tour.

Overall, this was a wonderful tour. Our initial guide, Kathleen, was very friendly and quite informative. We then had a separate guide to take us through Naples, and he was extremely knowledgeable. Finally, we had Franco who guided us through Pompeii, and he was terrific. Every aspect of the tour was well thought through and managed. The only reason I did not give this five stars was because the return to Rome was quite lengthy. We were the next to last group to be let off, and that took over an hour once we hit the city limits. Although this could not be helped because of the fierce traffic, it was still frustrating to wait to long to get home. Overall, though, this tour was fantastic.

It was an excellant bus ride to Naples with a stop in route that was needed. It would of been nice to have a little more time in Naples maybe one other stop besides the harbor. Then on the way out of Naples we had a stop that was not expected at a Cameo shop and store. On to Pompeii, the lunch place was alright but, it would have been nice if someone would have spoke english especially when I was trying to order something additional.

Finally, on to the Anceint City of Pompeii it was awesome and our tour guide Franco was fantasic so knowledgable and comical he made the tour always interesting.

Pompeii was very neat, and the city tour guide that we had was very knowledgeable. The bus ride was about 3 hours long, a little longer then we expected. The hike up the volcano was strenuous and will be hard for some people, but the views were worth it. The most negative part of this trip was the lunch, which was mediocre and took a long time. This was an enjoyable way to see these sights overall.

Had a great time on the tour. Fortunately we didn't spend much time in the dirty city of Naples, Pompeii was better. The lunch was just okay, definately nothing special and drinks are not included. The Pompeii guided tour was good but the guy was hard to understand. Pompeii is neat but it wasn't as neat as I expected, especially since we visited the Roman Forums the day before. What left a bad taste in our mouth was the drop off at the end of the trip. We rented an apartment rather than a hotel but when we asked them to drop us off at the hotel nearest our apartment, they refused. So basically only if you stay at a hotel will you get dropped off which is BS since we all paid the same amount. I would recommend looking up all the hotels on their list and just naming the one closest to where you are staying as your hotel since they are not very accomodating. Even then you may have to walk a very far distance or take a cab depending on where you are staying.

I picked this tour only because I wanted to visit Mt. Vesuvius. Unfortunately, by the time we got to the top, it started raining so we had to go to the museum in Naples. I would have rather have just gone back to Rome honestly. Our guide on the bus was friendly and the guide we had in Pompeii, Stefano was poignantly funny. I’m glad I was able to see Pompeii, but I would have picked a different tour that included the city if I knew for sure the weather was going to be bad.

Trip on the whole worth doing. Naples visit very brief with virtualy no time to explore the city. Pompeii visit brilliant made so primarily by our fantastic 87 year old guide Franco , an absolute wonder and a mine of information. Biggest let down was length of trip back to hotel !0 pm before we got back avery long day indeed 630 am to 10 pm some15 and a half hours. Stop times of 20 mins on the way down and back too short as by the time we got served with a coffee -because of queus- it was time to leave again. Wouldnt have missed pompeii trip for the world and hope that franco manages to stay in his job as lopng as possible. Thanks again

I will start with the good about this day trip. Pompeii was excellent and the guide you pick up in Naples was very knowledgable and fun to listen to. I would recommend the Pompeii portion of this trip. As this was my first time to Italy I wanted to get as many day trips as possible. The Naples portion of the day trip sounded good on paper although it is really only driving through the city on a bus. Chances are they will have to translate all the sites you see into 4 languages so you really miss a lot. The lunch was actually pretty good. Another downside are the stops they make to rest your legs. The 2 places we stopped were tourist traps with high priced gifts for purchase. I could have done without that.

The guides were lovely and chatted with us most of the way there. Pompeii just blew me away. The size of the city was beyond my expectations and personally i found it better than the ruins in rome.

If you find yourself in Naples, I'd HIGHLY recommend an excursion outside of the city. This tour was the highlight of our trip. Where Napoli Centrale was squalor, the tour was redeeming. It was extremely informative, well-managed, and comprehensive. We were able to see the ruins of Pompeii, street-by-street, and climb Mt. Vesuvius without feeling rushed.
The price was quite fair, especially with transportation, meal and tickets included. The tour guide managed our small group in both English and Italian, and conveyed the history of the sites perfectly.
It's also worth mentioning: we were able to bypass the lines entirely, and were never left waiting. We were dropped off at our hotel feeling great about the tour choice. What more can be said?
Five stars.

I was initially picked up from my hotel by the wrong tour company, who dishonestly said that we belonged on their bus. Apparently this has happened before, and then later on that tour they tell you, you are on the wrong bus and charge you again.
Andrea found my husband and I on mobile, and arranged with the bus driver to pick us up at the next hotel. He had even called our hotel multiple times to locate us and they told him no one under our name was staying at the hotel. I am guessing they have some arrangement to get commission from this other company.

Andrea was fantastic and our driver, Raffaele were fantastic. Andrea was knowledgeable, humorous and was obviously proud of his city. I would recommend the tour to anyone. Naples is not the kind of my place I would like to negotiate by myself, having Andrea made us feel at ease and helped us make the most of the day we had to see Naples and Pompeii.
