Doing what: Kauai Waimea Canyon and Wailua River

Great stops around the island. Super guide, Sam, who kept things lively with anecdotes and even a couple of tunes on his ukelele.

Very thorough trip with very informed tour guide.

Doing what: Entire Kauai Island Air Tour

Kauai is a very pretty island and I'd advise that all visitors should try and see it from the air. I was surprised at how inexpensive an hour’s flight round the island was, and got more photos from this flight than the all of the rest of the trip combined. The flight flies a loop out to the steep sea cliffs at the far side of the island before passing between the mountains (taking in a view of the highest / wettest point) and flying over the more lowland areas to finish off with an arial view of a waterfall into a cenote like feature. The tour firm pick you up from and drop you back at your hotel and ensure that you get at least one photo of yourself standing in front of the plane. The only slight issues were that towards the end of the flight the turbulence was becoming stomach churning to the point where I couldn't have taken much more, and the flight was about 5 minutes short of the hour. Other than that the cloud base was high enough for us to see everything and I'd strongly recommend this tour as you’ll see swathes of the island that you simply can’t see by any other means.

Doing what: Kauai Waimea Canyon Experience

Have done this tour before and had to do it again. The canyon is fantastic. It's only spoilt by the short period of time spent at the viewing point (just 30 minutes). The blow hole stop on the way to the canyon is unimpressive, as are the stops at sights where films have been short. The extended shop at an overpriced tourist retail outlet is particularly unwelcome, but seems to be unavoidable on these sort of trips. However warm it is at sea level, you should take your coat for the canyon viewing deck as it will be cold and windy. You may also find that every photo you take is different due to the constantly changing weather patterns. If you've opted for the river trip and grotto extension, prepare to be underwhelmed by the grotto and to be forced to hula dance on the boat trip back. The view of the final water fall is also unimpressive, but the drivers are happy to transport your luggage on the bus and drop you off at the airport at the end of the tour if this is your last day on the island. The mid-trip meal is at a reasonably priced restaurant ($20ish), but it lasted a little long for my liking and you should be prepared in case you have a comedy driver. If so, you may find that the tour is interactive and that you'll be expected to get involved in the group discussions and hilarity all day long.

Doing what: Kauai Deluxe Sightseeing Flight

This was the best part of our cruise. Shane the pilot was very nice and made the flight very comfortable. He did a great job. The owner was very nice too. She gave us a ride back to the ship, which saved us a few $'s. This is a first class operation. We will definitely do this again when we get back to Kauai. It is the best and only way to see the entire Island.

Doing what: Kauai Deluxe Sightseeing Flight

This tour was wonderful! When we arrived the staff was very welcoming, explained the itinerary thouroughly. I was also given a flower for my ear and one of those necklaces (I forget what they're called, but all over Hawaii). I was a little nervous about how small the plane was but it was great because everyone can see perfectly. There were only 4 of us on the plane. The pilot was really informative and entertaining. Absolutely beautiful views. A must on Kauai!

The people at Wings over Kauai do everything possible to make sure you have a good trip. The view was spectacular. The Pilot even turned the plane around when I missed a picture of a waterfall so I could get the picture.

Doing what: Kauai Deluxe Sightseeing Flight

The trip was fabulous! A great tour guide and we had a lot of fun! It was our first day on Kauai, and he helped show us a few spots that were really worth checking out. This was our favorite part of the trip AND it was a lot cheaper than a helicopter tour!

Doing what: Waimea Canyon Bicycle Downhill

After a beautiful ride up to Waimea Canyon, in our van, we were struck breathless with the beauty of our surroundings! Our guides narrated the entire trip so that we could more fully enjoy the sights. They made us feel safe about our downhill biking experience--not a small thing for someone like me who has not been on a bike in forty years! We never felt rushed as we biked and stopped several times to take a closer look and enjoy a refreshing snack. Then we were allowed to go FASTER on the last stretch of road, if we chose to do so. And several of us did--what fun!!
