This was a terrific tour of Ireland! The tour guides were incredibly well informed and fun. My favorite part was the Connemara Rail Tour. I tried to put this tour together on my own but I could not match the price. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling alone or in a group.
This 2-day trip was the highlight of my stay in Ireland. I liked the Blarney Castle but because of a bad leg was not able to climb to the top to kiss the stone. Instead I walked over to the Woolen Mill and went shopping and ate lunch. Fair prices for good quality items. The B and B was the Fairview Guesthouse. A very lovely place to stay with breakfast and internet. There were many shops, restaurants, and pubs close by. There is also a nice woolen shop at the end of the street near the Pharmacy which I discovered when I had to get cold medicine. The second day was the Ring of Kerry trip and it was one full day of beautiful scenery. I enjoyed looking at the very green country fields plus seeing the mountains and bays together. This tour is a must do.
my son and I have never been to Ireland before so this was a great way to see the country side.
Norm ,our guide was awesome as was the lovely b and b,
I would definitely recommend this.
As a very active 25 year old, I found it incredibly frustrating to travel from one tourist trap to another with limited chances during the day for walking around, and taking photos. The guide spent a lot of time giving us their political opinions, and information about his wife leaving him. I was so disappointed with this tour that my friend and I had to jump ship on day 3 out of 4 days. As a visitor with substantial Irish heritage, I am upset that I left the country unhappy.I DO NOT recommend this tour for anyone who is young/ young at heart and wants to be active during their trip and REALLY see Ireland.
My boyfriend and I took a three day rail tour from September 2-4 in Ireland, run by Railtours Ireland. Brian was our tour guide during our tour - not only did he give us great information, he brought us great sunshine during our trip. Spectacular weather, people and guide - this rail tour was top notch.
Highly recommended. Cannot thank Brian enough for his knowledge and warmth. A group of 30 - no issues with good laughs and good fun.
Kissing the Blarney Stone, seeing the King of Kerry and taking in the cliffs of Moher. This was truly a magical cliff.
Plus we got engaged!
I did the tour early September 2013. The weather was lovely and the site were beautiful. Our tour director Brian was knowledgeable, kind and entertaining. The tour itself was great we got to see and do a lot of things. If you go ask for Brian as your tour guide.
The tour was great and exactly what I was hoping for, well organized and informative. Our tour guide was very friendly and was always watching out for his group. He made sure we had plenty of time for everything. He was very engaged and his commentary was interesting and funny. It would have been impossible to experience as much in three days on our own. THe only negative was the B and B accomodation. I would not stay there again. Distance from town was no problem and they were very nice but that didn't make up for unacceptable inconviences such as no hot water, archaic room locks, and bathroom down the hall.
Great trip with rail tours
Excelent tour and tour guides. Accommodation could be better or at least to offer various options at different price plans.
The accomodations of this tour were not good, a complaint to the company went nowhere. What you saw was good, but the fact the the company didn't seem to care about our Bed and Breakfast would lead me to say don't use this company.
Everything went so smoothly. Peter, our tour guide, was wonderful and clearly passionate about his job. He took us to places that the tour normally doesn't stop, and the experience was that much better. The train ride is a bit lengthy from Dublin, so make sure you bring something to read or amuse yourself -- although the countryside is entertainment enough. We had enough time at each stop to explore and get a better sense of County Kerry, from the small villages along the Ring of Kerry to the bigger city of Cork. The B and B arrangements were awesome, Eugene at Noraville B and B was an awesome host who made sure we were taken care of. Overall, this is a great option for those who want to see the Ring of Kerry without making all the arrangements themselves. You'll be well taken care of and you'll have a terrific time!
Great staff, awesome trip, good experience
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! From start to finish, we loved this tour! Our Rabbies tour guide, "Wee" Peter Falconer (last name?), was amazing and really made our tour truly special. He was always super entertaining, informative, and helpful. The scenery was spectacular(!), and the tour was run very well.
3 days is more than enough to see Southern Ireland. The tour guide (Brian) was fantastic, very cheerful, knowledgeable and took the time to learn our name's. Blarney Castle was a highlight, but the B and B we stayed in was 10 minute walk out of town and the hot water system broke on the second day so no hot showers!
The Ring of Kerry was a full day in a bus and was very rushed. The whether started out great but by the time we got to the top of the mountain the mist was so thick we could not see anything. It cleared up when we got to Killarney National Park but we only had up to 10 minutes to enjoy the view - not so great if you are a hobbyist photographer. Would love to go back to the National Park - it was stunning!
The whether was great for the Cliffs of Moher and we had enough time to enjoy the view and take pics. So much to see in 3 days but if you are on a tight time frame then this is definitely the tour to take - the history lesson from our tour guide make's tours like this worth it :)
