Perhaps the most famous of Krabi’s beaches is Railay, a stretch of coconut-lined white sand backed by verdant jungle and dramatic limestone cliffs. Consistently ranked among the best beaches in the world, this beautiful beach sits on a peninsula in Krabi province about 30 minutes by boat from Krabi town.
Phra Nang Beach
Near to Railay Beach is another of the world’s best, Phra Nang Beach. This white sand beach offers a broad expanse of sand and calm waters perfect for swimming. With hardly any development at all, it’s a great place to relax for the day, or if you’re feeling adventurous, do some climbing on the limestone cliffs.
Ao Nang Beach
The stretch of beach known as Ao Nang has become one of Krabi’s most developed beaches, complete with souvenir shops, restaurants, high-end beach resorts and plentiful vendors offering water sports and island-hopping trips. This is also the place to catch a ferry to Koh Phi Phi.
The seas of Krabi are dotted with picture perfect rocky islands, and some of the most beautiful sit within the Hong Island group. One of the biggest, Koh Hong, enjoys small, quiet stretches of jungle-lined beach as well as a hidden interior lagoon perfect for kayaking or bird watching.
Klong Muang Beach
Klong Muang is one of Krabi’s newer beach destinations and the site of many upscale and boutique resorts. While this beach lacks the dramatic limestone rock formations that characterize many Krabi beaches, it still has soft, white sand and safe waters without the commercial development of Ao Nang.
