Kruger National Park
Trip Planning & Itineraries
With its vast savannas, abundant wildlife and long conservation history, Kruger National Park is one of the best safari destinations in the world.
It's reputed to have the greatest variety of animals of any park on the continent, with lions, leopards, elephants, Cape buffaloes and black rhinos (the Big Five), plus cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, antelopes and many species of smaller animals all wandering around a stunning setting. Topping it all off is an excellent infrastructure that makes everything readily accessible.

Suggested Itineraries: Kruger National Park
It's a game of chance, but thanks to the variety and sheer numbers of animals in Kruger, you have a better probability of spotting wildlife here than anywhere else in the region.
Viewing is best in the cooler, drier winter season, when trees lose their leaves and plant growth is sparser, improving visibility. Also at this time animals tend to be concentrated around the dwindling water sources, and there are fewer mosquitoes. However, the landscape is more attractive in summer, with fresh green growth and a plethora of newborns.
