Our guide picked us up at the Cruise Port and the transportation from Kusadasi to Ephesus was very comfortable especially since it was a hot day. There were six in our group and another couple from New Zealand.

Our guide was Adam and he was extremely knowledgeable of the area and the ruins in Ephesus. You could tell he has a strong passion for the history of this area and that he studies it constantly. He warned us to bring plenty of water, use sun screen and wear hats and we were grateful that we heeded his advice. Adam looked for shade to stop and tell us about the importance of the various ruins we saw.

The ancient library, amphitheater, markets, and homes were all very facinating. We made one more stop at an ancient temple but there was not much left to see and then he took us to a leather factory where we were treated to a fashion show. After the runway show, we entered the factory showroom where they tried to sell us leather jackets, but hey, when it is 87F out you're not interested. I think it was a cultural thing where the tour guides need to take you to a leather factory, rug factory or ceramic factory. Interesting experience but we could have skipped it.

As I said, Adam was a great tour guide and very personable. I would definitely ask for him.

The bus trip there from Kusadasi was about 3 hours and quite pleasant with a food/drink/toilet stop.
We wasted some time at a linen/Manchester outlet store which we were not interested in.
So between the bus trip, the Linen shop and the lunch getting to the actual site took about 4.5 hours.
Everything else on the tour was fantastic, we had plenty of time at the site, we walked around the travertine's and did all the photos, visited the museum which is excellent and then had about 1 hour swimming in the pool before departing. If we had just a bit more time we could have also had a short walk to the roman amphitheatre but we some many more better ones later on our trip so no big issue.
The tour guide and driver were both fantastic, great English skills and informative.
Great tour just get a book to read for when they do the outlet store.

Our tour in Kusadasi was excellent! Our personal tour guide, and driver, met us at the port where the cruise ship had docked 15 minutes early. The driver was quite good -- and safe! The guide was exceptionally knowledgable and helpful. He knew all of the shortcuts, got us through all of the lines ahead of nearly all other people from three cruise ships. The guide actually helped "customize" our tour for our schedule. Our companions aboard the ship were jealous of the personal service that we received on our tour. Oh, what clean, beautiful and interesting cities are Kusadasi and Ephisus. What a tour! Bravo! A lifetime memory!
