The tour was excellent and interesting. The morning and afternoon sections were led by different guides, who were very competent.
As with usual big bus tours things were a bit rushed, but ours a bit more so as we were delayed starting because we had to wait for a big group coming from Osaka by train to join our tour. Also there were only a few of us signed up for the Kyoto Morning tour so they put us on the all-day tour bus. Consequently we never got to go the Handicraft Center as was advertised in our tour description. Instead we were dropped off near the train station near the restaurant where the full-day tour participants were headed next. I was not happy about that as I wanted to visit the Handicraft Center.
We were disappointed to miss out on the Imperial Palace in Kyoto but Nara was definately a highlight. We were there during Golden Week, so everything was quite crowded and there was a lot of traffic. This may have been what cut into our time at each location. Our guide was very soft spoken and difficult to understand and hear but when we did, she was very informed and interesting. An extra 15 minutes would have been so appreciated at Golden Pavilion and Nijo Castle for pictures and the opportunity to feed the deer and souvenier shop. If we did that, we wouldn't have heard anything the guide said.
The tour guide was given a very detail and clear explanation. But due to tracffic issue, the time spend at Kiyomizu Temple was too short. So end up it was quite rush during visit to Kiyomizu Temple.
We had a good time overall and the lunch was good even though we did not have it at the Handicraft center as promised. We would recommend your tour to our friends.Tq
Fabulous tour. With limited time we wanted to see as much as possible and this accommodated. Well worth doing the full day tour, lunch was great.
I was kinda frustrated not seeing the Sakura in full bloom. I was imagining the flowers in the shrine, temples, parks, even across the street and the thought of it seems so splendid! But, nonetheless I have no regrets joining the tour. The tourist guide gives her best to tell us a brief history of their culture and tradition which I find very informative and interesting. I also love the lunch included in the package. One can never go wrong in choosing Japan as their travel destination. Thank you Viator for making it easy for the tourist see all these amazing and historical places.
we enjoyed the enlish commentary by both experienced guide. well worth it .Very organised and even the vegetarian lunch was 100%Japanese.
If you only have 1 day in Kyoto this is the tour for you. You won't get a lot of time to really sit back and enjoy the sites but you will see a lot. The Lunch wasn't the best but the sites and guides are fantastic!
