Guide was fantastic. Interesting and informative. Speaks clearly for all to hear. Covers a lot of ground in a short time. A+ compared to other international guides. Coordinator arranged 2 free taxis to meeting point. Dropped us off in city center!

If like us you are time limited, this is a good tour to do. We did think that it was somewhat unbalanced with the places in the morning feeling rather rushed as they warranted more time whilst the pm session could have been better paced with more time at Kiyomizu. The morning tour guide was excellent: very informative and with very good English. Our lady in the afternoon was very pleasant but seemed less assured and was thrown by the traffic problems at Kiyomizu. Lunch was rather chaotic and the serving staff should have organised it more effectively. That being said, we thought the food was excellent, and plenty of it so that it definitely made the whole day tour good value.

Tour guides were great and the sites were beautiful! My only gripe would be the food at lunch, but I guess you can't expect too much when feeding such a large group. Overall, the tour was wonderful - easy, well organized, and a great way to see Kyoto in a day. I definitely recommend this tour!

Since we came from Osaka in the morning, the pacing, timing and length of the afternoon tour was just right. The best place for me was Sanjusangendo, which unfortunately did not allow photos. I only wished that our tour guide that afternoon spoke clearer English or had a tone of voice that was not too high pitched.

If you don´t have a lot of time in Kyoto and you want to see the highlights of the city, this is definitely a good choice.

The overall experience was good, however, I think that the lunchtime took too long, considering that we had been rushed from one spot to another during the morning.

Whistle stop tour. Well informed guides. Some beautiful places. Would have appreciated greater clarity on pick-up arrangements which turned out to be from the lobby of the hotel. Would have preferred to eat in a more atmospheric location but all in all a good tour.

We were very disappointed with our Kyoto Full Day Tour. 1) We were not informed that the Imperial Palace was closed the day of our visit. Had we known in advance, as surely the tour provider knew, we would have booked the Kyoto/Nara tour. As it was, we were not informed until we were at the tour starting spot and then it was too late, as the Nara tour was sold out. 2) The lunch was worse than mediocre. (Overcrowded to the point that we had difficulty finding seats and poor quality food in a disorganized buffet. The chicken was mostly skin, fat, and ligaments. Two other group tours we went on in Japan provided lunches that surpassed this one by a huge margin.) 3) The tour guide seemed burned out and not particularly helpful. When we got on the pick-up bus from our hotel, there was no greeting or explanation of the procedure for the actual tour, so we did not know we were to remain on the bus that we were already on until we'd unnecessarily gathered up our belongings assuming we'd transfer to another bus. Although she wore a microphone headset, the speaker was buried in her purse. Thus no one could understand what she was saying as she walked (rather sprinted) with the speaker facing away from the group and inside her purse. When several people pointed this out she took it out of her purse, and that helped a little. However, each site was so jammed with other tour groups, that as we were rushed from stop to stop, the interference of the multiple other guides speaking to their own groups made it extremely difficult to hear what our guide was saying unless you were right next to her. It would have been very helpful to have been provided receiver headsets so that even the people in the back of the group could hear as well. We understand that you cannot control the massive number of people that visit the sites on the itinerary, but since the whole point of having a guide is narration, thus our guide was a waste.

Kyoto has a lot of very interesting and beautiful places to see. This full day tour may not cover all of them but it includes most of the must-see places. Lunch is included which is just ok. Our tour guide for the afternoon tour, Yuki, was very knowledgeable and fluent in English. My only complaint is that we were all in a rush especially the morning tour, and it seemed that we didn't have enough time to take in the beauty of the places we've been to. One family who was part of our tour group was left behind in the Golden Pavilion and had to take the taxi to rejoin the group in the Imperial Palace. The pacing of the afternoon tour was better, we even had time to buy some souvenirs in the shops near the Kyomizu Temple.

Enjoyed the tour. The Imperial Palace was a bit of a bust as we were not allowed into any buildings. I'd leave it off and extend the time at other sites that were very interesting. This way the guides would not be so rushed and would be able to wait for all members of the group before beginning to speak.
Would have liked assigned seats on the bus.
Guide spoke very good English

Absolutely perfect if you only have a short time in Kyoto; I just had one full day and this tour took me to six places, all of them fantastic and worth seeing. It felt like I'd managed to see a decent amount of Kyoto even though I just stopped over there. The lunch was fantastic too!

Tour was not so good. From the first destination, we arrived back to the bus 5-10 minutes late in which the bus left without us. Not understanding how to speak Japanese it was hard for us to get to the next location. By the time we figured out where to go we had missed seeing one of the main attractions. The food for lunch was also horrible. Didn't really eat much at all to be honest from there besides ice-cream because that seemed like the safest choice. Wouldn't recommend this tour as I didn't have a great experience at all.
