Everything was great, seeing all the temples and shrines was wonderful and our guides where fantastic. The only complaint would have to be the meal. It was extremely small, the main was apparently chicken but all we received was two tiny pieces, the tempura was cold by the time we got there also.
All the places we went to were interesting, and I felt there was an adequate amount of time at each location. I would have preferred some more free reign instead of mostly having the group stay all together, but people would always wander to take pictures and then come back anyway so it was ok.
perfect timing. good meal.
Excellent tour, well organised and with good lunch
This tour was very interesting and our tour guide was very nice and funny. Can recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.
This was a really nice tour. You will be able to see a lot in one day. Nara is beautiful. As any tour you will feel rushed, but it's basically impossible to see so much in one day without rushing. The lunch was nice, but very very tiny, we were lucky we had a big breakfast. Bring snacks. I would recommend this tour if you have a short time and want to get the most out of it, our tour guides were great and very knowledgeable.
This class was a delight. My octogenarian instructor was surprised and thrilled that a student from the United States had heard of dashi, bonito, miso paste, and mirin. Her enthusiasm was infection. The lesson was short but it was a good foundation in Japanese cooking. I learned a lot and I enjoyed eating what I cooked I chose the vegetarian option, with fried tofu, salad and miso soup, since it was different than the food I was eating in restaurants. The WAC center is in a beautiful tradition home in Kyoto.

This was my second time taking this tour, yet I still learned a lot and had a great time! The tour guide was very informative and entertaining! You get to see so much and the price is reasonable! The food they served for lunch was also delicious! This is a great experience for first time visitors to Japan!

Really enjoyed, our guide was really good taking photos etc. The amount of Sake tasted was generous and the brewery master was very knowledgeable.
Being big fan Samurai fans hubby and I really enjoyed the Samurai performance. Our only regret is we did not sign up for the 2-hr lesson. it would've been twice the fun.

great tour , value for money , guide was fantastic
We enjoyed the tour and the overview of the city. Our tour guide was fun and entertaining. Good lunch too!
My husband and I took this tour with Yoshie in August. This was a great day, and Yoshie was an excellent guide. At the Fushimi Inari shrine, she talked us thriugh many of the traditions and rituals,,as well as the shrine's history and cultural significance, which really elevated the experience for us as compared to other shrines we visited on our own in Kyoto. She also walked us through the sake-making and -tasting process and told us some great stories about the sake brewing district of Kyoto. She kept us on schedule without any stress or fuss, had a great sense of humor, and was obviously incredibly knowledgeable about the subjects of the tour. I would highly recommend this tour to others!

The whole evening lived up to expectations. Two Maiko and a Geiko for about 3 hours of entertainment including dancing and some games and lots of time for photos. Really impressive evening.

Covered the major attractions and our guide was very informative
What was amazing about this tour was that they took you to an excellent variety of castles, shrines and temples, plus a great lunch included. All the while, never feeling rushed and like we had plenty of time at every location. It was great to have that many locations 6 total a lunch in 1 tour, which really gave you a great sense of the history and culture of Kyoto. Some tours try to squeeze a lot in and feel rushed, but not this one, although that was also because everything was close together, so that limited time spent on the road and bus. The tour guide was also excellent. Would recommend this tour to everyone looking to get a great sense of Kyoto history and culture in 1 day!
My two daughters and I were the only people on the tour that day. Our tour guide, Gucchi, made it fun, interesting, and enjoyable. She answered our questions, kept us moving, and told us informative and interesting facts about the areas where we visited. Himeji Castle was incredible but be prepared to walk along slippery wooden floors and steep steps in your socks as you check in your shoes at the door. The gardens are extensive, beautiful and peaceful. The bridge, a modern day wonder, was quite interesting too. I'm very glad I took the tour, and if I had to spend the day in Japan with a stranger and see these sites, I'm very glad I did it with Gucchi!
Must stop sites to see and explore. While you can't go into Nijo Castle, it was still magnificent to see this building along the small lake. Just gorgeous.
My daughters and I were the only attendees for the tea ceremony that day. We learned a lot!
Doing what: Japanese Tea Ceremony with a Tea Master
This was incredibly fun. My daughters and I got to dress up like samurai, learn sword moves, and learn a lot about historical facts about them. Only down side was finding this place -- it's in the basement of a building and not so easy to find. Be helpful to provide a more detailed map and/or directions. In our Japanese taxi driver had a heck of a time finding the place!

The best part of the trip was the experience of Private Sushi and Tempura making in a local home. The hosts who welcomed us in their home were amazing, so sweet and gave us the best part of Japan...the people...It was a spectacular and amazing event and memory for a lifetime. It truly was worth every penny to spend time in a local home with a local of Kyoto...it is the only true way to get to know a place is in a person's home. I cannot say enough of what a blessed experience this was. Thank you Viator for making it possible. I have been on several tours of yours in several countries and you do not disappoint.
