Very interesting places, good air-conditioned bus, good meal and very knowledgable English-speaking guide. Happy that I combined it with Nara trip, it added some variety with a deer park.
we enjoyed the tour; both guides gave good, clear information(Kyoto part gave us bilingual brochures, Nara had no brochures) Good lunch. Would have liked to see another "site" rather than a souvenier shop in Nara as the 3rd stop.
Great tour which in effect was three mini tours bolted together - Nara afternoon tour, Kyoto morning tour and Kyoto afternoon tour. The transfer to Tokyo station for the Shinkansen was great and we were taken to the train and met immediately upon arrival. From there it was a short walk across the road to lunch before starting the tour.
Nara was great and the guide was both humorous and informative. The sights were saw were impressive and I liked the way we were given a leaflet at each venue giving some details and history of the locations.
The day two sights turned the wow factor up to 11. There was an element of feeling a bit rushed, but I suppose trying to see the most important sights of such a historical city in a day is always going to mean keeping moving. However, both the am and pm guides were very good and I left with a good understanding of what I was seeing, and cleverly, a desire to go back and see more!
My only real negative was that breakfast was not included in the overnight hotel. It was detailed on the information, but for the cost of the trip, and the requirement to be ready to be picked up quite early, this seemed like a mean omission.
Overall, a great, well organised trip, with excellent transport, guides and amazing sights. Thanks
Can highly recommend this tour. Only way to quickly see so many sights and the guides were great.
The trip itself was great, you won't be able to see so much in such a short time if you go in your own
but you need to do your homework before this trip-read about where are you going, because it isn't always possible to hear the guide, and not everybody from our group understood her accent, unfortunately
But despite everything it was a great trip, we were so glad we went on it!
The kyoto morning tour is always on a rush. we spent so little time in each destination and we feel pressured. the nijo castle does not allow photography and all we got was the exterior. The nara tour is better, it was laid back and i had a great time with the deers of Nara park. Seeing the UNESCO world heritage sites at Nara was a pleasure. Our tour guide Ms. Miko is very knowledgeable and was able to answer our queries.
Not a bad tour. The Todaiji temple was worth seeing.
Nijo Castle was really interesting and well worth a visit, as was the Golden Pavilion which was really beautiful. I would not want to visit the Imperial Palace again. The tour group had to split into four lines and had to wait in the hot sun until we were told we could go inside the grounds. Not that much to see and there was a female security officer keeping within a short distance of us at all times.
This was a great tour and I definitely recommend.
Tour was excellent, Out toru guide Mickey was excellent and funny.
We loved the Nara part of this tour however we felt maybe the deer park should have been last as it is so beautiful it would have been the perfect ending to an awesome day
If you are interested in visiting Nara, its an ok tour to try it. You do get a chance to see the mentioned tourist attractions. But it also depends what you want to get out of this tour.
So, fyi, Viator is a reseller of tours. The guides English (Mr.Yoshi) was not good. It was very difficult to understand him, and he spoke to fast to make things challenging. Seems like his interest was in cracking jokes and did not talk much about historical details.
The sites are interesting, and were packed with people. There is not enough time to cover the sites and have a few min for shopping. I wish that they would add probably an hour to the tour. I think they provided a good tour just need to have a better guide.
I love this tour! Our guide Mickey made the tour really interesting with his great sense of humor! And all the sites are all really worth seeing!
We really enjoyed our trip to Nara and loved seeing the temple and deer. The guide was good, but with a larger group was hard to hear sometimes. Obviously not something that can be helped, but we did have some difficult with other guests on our tour. I know it is cultural and we understand that to an extent, but having rude guests touring with you can definitely take away from the experience.
It's really educational and what wow an eye opener! Our guides Mickey and another lady (sorry can't remember her name who took us on our afternoon tour to Nara on 16th Aug) were knowledgeable and could answer any questions the participants had thrown to them.. Great job guys!
