Doing what: 3-Day Lake District Discovery

Lindeth Howe Country Hotel was a wonderful place to stay, fantastic service with a smile, excellent food and beautiful rooms. I wouldn't really call it a 3 day tour since there is really only one day of actual tour with 2 nights accomodation but the one day Lakes tour was lovely. Mountain Goat are excellent tour guides and I would be more than happy to do another tour with them. Best advice to give you is to confirm a pick up time before you arrive as there isn't really an official pick up place and time. Also, on your first day, leave enough time to walk to Bowness and go to the World of Beatrix Potter and a Windermere Lake cruise to Ambleside.

Doing what: Beatrix Potter's Lakeland Tour

I enjoyed the tour immensely. Mountain Goat provided a wonderful service, with a driverguide whos' knowledge of the Lakes District reflected many years of personal experience and a genuine affection for the area. The trip included many highlights within a remakably convenient perid of time, and all connected by drives through scenic countryside and picturesque villages. A delight from beginning to end. Thank you.

Doing what: Lake District Rail Day Trip from London

This is a very long day, but very worthwhile. Very well organised with pick up and return at Lakes District Railway. Train trip from London was efficient and comfortable. A great way to see a beautiful part of England in a day.

Good option to visit the Lake District if you've not got enough time to put up a night!

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better Review by Suzanne L, Canada, June 2010
Doing what: Lake District Rail Day Trip from London

We were a total of 15 people in a small van, tour guide was very informative and friendly. However, the trip felt rushed, we didn't really get to appreciate Beatrix Potter's farm. 20 minutes here, 15 minutes there - too rushed. With no time designated for lunch, we had to choose between grabbing a bite or visiting the village. Overall the trip was OK, I just wish there had been better planning to give more time in the villages.

Doing what: 4-Day Lake District Discovery

This trip was well worth every penny. As a first time solo traveller I was nervous about joining a tour and staying in a hotel on my own. But all my fears were put to rest from the moment I arrived. The hotel was fantastic. My room had superb views, was spotlessly clean and the hotel staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The tours were fascinating, the tour guides were interesting, amusing and just generally great. I cannot sing high enough praises for everyone involved who all contributed towards making my holiday one that I will not forget in a long time. Even the delightful waitress in the hotel restaurant. I arranged at the last minute to go on an additional tour and this was arranged without any problems as well

Doing what: Lake District Rail Day Trip from London

Obviously the Lake District is not a place that one can fully appreciate in less than a day, but this trip was a very nice first encounter with that beautiful region. Everything went very smoothly the trains arrived on time, the guide was friendly and competent, and even the weather was pleasant most of the time. It's a pity that there was not enough time to simply explore the surroundings at a slow pace and find better spots for taking pictures, but as I said, there is not much one can do in a few hours. Highly recommended!

Fantastic! The bus was excellent and the ride superb. The detailed knowledge of the area by our driver and guide made the day for us. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and would make a hasty return.

This tour was our favorite part of our whole trip to England, wish we would've stayed longer! Picked up from the train station by a tour rep and brought to the Lindeth Howe. The hotel staff were the best, so helpful and friendly! We received a tour of the hotel and then were taken to our room on 2nd floor. No elevator, but staff will carry your luggage up for you if you desire. Room was spacious, but decor was a bit dated, our view was a tiny courtyard and the roof, so not spectacular but didn't really care. Dinner was amazing both nights, so delicious, gourmet and fancy! Note, you order dessert after dinner, and it is included with the meal as long as you don't select from the a la carte menu otherwise you get charged, also beverages besides tap water are not included, those are extra. The maids perform a turndown service while you are at dinner i.e. they prepare the bed, turn on the lights and close the curtains for you and leave a chocolate on your pillow which we thought was different but unique. Breakfast is continental buffet or you can order a hot breakfast from the menu, either way it's all included in the package price was just okay compared to the awesome dinner!. The 10 Lakes Spectacular tour the next day was amazing! You're on a minibus of 16 people max, and you see so many sights, it's the best tour out there. I only wish I would've been writing down all the names of places we stopped at so I can label my pictures properly. The next morning we were picked up at the hotel and brought back to the station, everything worked out perfectly! A definate must do package tour!!!!

Excellent hotel! The service was excellent as well! The trip could improve to match what is expected from the title. The guides could perhaps be better prepared!

I have used Viator for a few years and have always been pleased with the level of service. I have recommended your website to other people, and they have had equally excellent results from your company. Thanks for all you do.
