Last time I came to the LD, we had a car so we could get around, but we missed some of the incredible views that we saw on this tour. I highly reccomend ths tour to new and frequent visitors.

The whole day was fantastic,an would really recommend this trip to newcomers to the Lakes, especially those on short trips. The driver/guide was superb and very informative and humorous-well done to all!

Doing what: Beatrix Potter's Lakeland Tour

The weather unfortunately was miserable and spoilt what should have been a splendid tour . The guide was very good and certainly did his best in the circumstances but Hilltop was dark inside due to the rain which also limited viewing the gardens and village nearby. On any sunny day,Windermere and surrounding areas would be lovely. The rain did it no favours.

Doing what: Beatrix Potter's Lakeland Tour

Excellent trip, guide/driver was superb, his local knowledge was superb, nothing was too much trouble.

This wonderful tour is perfect on a nice day. We were lucky with no rain and I would not drive and be able to see the wonderful views on winding, narrow and sometimes very steep roads. Take extra camera batteries, there are lots of picture opportunities.

Doing what: Ten Lakes Spectacular to Borrowdale, Buttermere and Beyond

What a wonderful way to see the highlights of the Lake District! Our guide was interesting, informative and an excellent driver. Considering some of the narrow 'sheep paths' and hedge rows the driving is best left to this company! We only had two days in this area, but this tour made the best use of one, then we had the second to supplement the tour. A great dollar value!

Doing what: Lake District Rail Day Trip from London

This was a great tour and a good deal since it included the rail ticket. I am only giving it 4 stars though because there was too much packed into one day. I would have preferred to stay longer at some of the places instead of going on the boat ride. There was no time to see the Beatrix Potter Gallery at Hawkshead and eat. And speaking of eating, there needs to be a lot more information about eating. I learned that a "Cream Tea" is a scone and tea only--nothing else. That really needed to be clarified and more information provided about places to eat, but more time provided to actually eat! But it was a small group in a small van, which is necessary since the road we were on were very, very narrow. Beautiful sites, but a lot of driving to get to them and to pick up people along the way.

Doing what: 4-Day Lake District Discovery

Great hotel with efficient staff and really good dinners. I was given the Westmorland Suite and that was fantastic! No mini fridge but otherwise really excellent. 2 full day Mountain Goat tours were interesting. Staff in the Windermere office were very helpful. Overall I enjoyed my trip - better weather would have made things perfect. I can't pin this disappointment on anyone so would definitely recommend this tour to people in the UK and abroad.

My twin and I opted for this trip which was marred by the weather. We understand that the tour company diesn't control that but as there was no air con in the minibus the windows kept steaming so we couldn't really see out all morning. If you like tours we would say this is worth doing if you can book last minute and guarantee the weather.

Wonderful experience. Driver/tour guide was very informative and familiar with the area and made the journey enjoyable. Good value for money

Doing what: Lake District Rail Day Trip from London

Great trip. Saw a lot. Well timed. Enjoyed the comments from the driver. I would definitely take another trip with Viator.

Gorgeous, gorgeous scenery! I loved the passes, the meres, the slate mine, the boat ride on Ullswater! Our guide was so gregarious and knowledgeable. Because I am a language and literature major, I appreciated his explanation of the Viking origin of so many of the place names, the detour he asked our coach to take so I could see Wordsworth's house, even his explanation of the sorts of sheep we were seeing. The day flew by. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat!

Doing what: The High Adventure - High Mountain Passes Spectacular

The trip was good and adventurous, but the weather is very critical at the lakes. our driver and guide (Mike) is an exceptional person. He knows the place, it's history and most of all he is very polite, conservative and his English is very good most especially for the foreigners.
