Doing what: Skip the Line: Grand Canyon Skywalk Express Helicopter Tour

I went on this trip with my wife on Dec 30th. 2011. The helicopter part of the trip was great. The weather was also amazing... Bright blue skies and no clouds. The pilot was very friendly and experienced (his name was Chuck). He was giving us all sorts of additional information during the trip. He was even explaining to us what the dials on the helicopter. My wife and I were sitting in the front two seats next to the pilot and the views were great. Before landing on the Grand Canyon airport the pilot flew over the Grand Canyon for a while and that was an amazing experience.
The Skywalk was a bit less amazing but it was still ok. The concept was good but the location could have been better. I haven't been to any other parts of the Grand Canyon but I am sure that there are other locations with much better views. The problem was that the skywalk was not located on the main canyon...Rather it was on a smaller branch of it. Also the drop there was not cliff like, it was more like a steep hill side. Anyway, all in all both my wife and I were pleased with the trip. It was very well organized and it was really worth it.

Despite the long journey from Vegas it was a fantastic experience for my family .Lying face down on the glass floor was amazing. The people run the attraction so well and the food we had on site was probably the best we had on our holiday.

What a great way to see the Grand Canyon! We were picked up right on time at our hotel and the rest of the tour ran just as seamlessly. The airplane was very comfortable, seating 8 passengers plus a co-pilot seat and of course the pilot. Our pilot was super friendly and made everyone feel really at ease. The flight was beautiful to and from the Grand Canyon. We took the afternoon flight, so the flight back to Vegas was spectacular due to the sunset views, great Grand Canyon views and we flew right past the Hoover Dam. Once at the Grand Canyon, I liked that you had free time to explore at your own pace. We did the skywalk which was really amazing! The lunch that was included was huge and quite good, and consisted of the bbq meat of your choice, a couple sides, a desert and hot and cold drinks. The whole tour was great from beginning to end and I can highly recommend it!

BRILLIANT DAY, PROFFESSIONAL and VERY INFORMATIVE STAFF ON EACH STAGE OF OUR TOUR, EVERYTHING ON TIME, WELL WORTH THE TRIP, THE GRAND CANYON IS UNBELIEVABLE IN SIZE, NOTICABLE WHEN HELICOPTERS ARE LIKE DINKY TOYS FLYING THROUGH. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TRIP, AND PREBOOKING THROUGH VIATOR IS RECOMMENDED AS IT TAKES THE HASSLE OUT OFF WALKING THE STREETS FOR CHEAPER TOURS WHICH MAY NOT BE AS GOOD. THE SKYWALK OVER THE CANYON IS A LITTLE OVERATED, BUT IS A GOOD EXPERIENCE

Doing what: Ultimate Grand Canyon 4-in-1 Helicopter Tour

When booking my first trip to Vegas I was overwhelmed after reading all the literature and tour books. I finally bit the bullet and booked through Viator for a Sundance Helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon and a Circe du Soleil show.
After booking I wanted to add the skywalk trip to the excursion, which Avaitor quickly adjusted and confirmed for me at no additional or surprise cost.
Anyone that is planning this sort of trip should remember to follow the tour guide directions and call before and when landing in Vegas to confirm your limousine pickup and or find out how to get purchased show or dinner tickets. Your hotel concierge can help if you have any questions. Everyone we talked to was so helpful and friendly, which really changed my mind about southwest Americans. I didn’t meet one nasty person my entire trip and I talked to anyone and everyone. Vegas is like a well-oiled machine that never stops. There are long lines for many things, but everything moves quickly and efficiently.
The helicopter trip into the Grand Canyon was an amazing experience! Everyone was so nice, helpful and professional. The Sundance Helicopter’s limousine driver was on time, fun and courteous. At the airport there is a short wait to weigh everyone to balance the aircraft and have a safety orientation, which was quick and informative. Our Sundance pilot for the day (Mike) was fantastic and also incredibly friendly, helpful and informative.
The 45 minute trip to the Grand Canyon was thrilling as we flew over the Hoover Dame and other landmarks that were pointed out. The Colorado River pontoon boat trip was beautiful, the people were so nice and the scenery was stunning. Anyone with mobility issues will want to remember that this portion of the trip requires navigating steep and rocky pathways from the helicopter to the boat. After the boat trip we got back in our helicopter and flew 20 minutes to the top of the canyon to another small airport. There, because we purchased tickets in advance, went to the front of the line for our meal tickets and directions to catch our next ride (beautiful white tour buses) to the Skywalk and Guano Point, where we had planned to have our lunch.
The Skywalk was interesting. It’s a big horse shoe shaped glass walkway thousands of feet above the canyon. We had to wear shoe covers to protect the glass floors and all our personal possessions we locked ourselves in lockers provided for free. Everything is immaculately clean. Also at the Skywalk stop there are clean bathrooms, a nice souvenir shop and Chinese food (which surprised my Mandarin girlfriend), burgers, fries, etc. This is a good stop for food if you’re not in the mood for the restaurant at the next stop at Guano Point, where the indoor, outdoor cafeteria style food was mediocre (pulled beef or roast chicken, mashed potatoes, veg, salad, water, etc.). Although the food wasn’t exciting it was quick and filling and all the people were incredibly nice and the views from our picnic table were spectacular. After lunch and good walk we boarded our bus back to the canyon airport (again the bus drivers were fantastic, friendly and informative).
I can’t get over how friendly and helpful everyone was! At the little canyon airport we didn’t waste any time boarding or getting back to Vegas, which was good because we were pooped after an exhilarating day and experience. When we got back to the Sundance airport we were able to purchase a picture of us in front of our helicopter, taken by the staff before we left, which was a reasonable and a fun souvenir. When we were done and ready to go back for a nap, without wait, we boarded the limousine and were taken safely back to our hotel. The helicopter trip was the highlight of our Vegas vacation and I would recommend Aviator and Sundance Helicopters to anyone looking for a professional and fun adventure.
In closing there are a few things to keep in mind. The climate is dry so drink lots of water. My lips are still chapped after being home for a week so take precautions, lip balm. When walking around Vegas you will be approached by lots of different people selling one thing or another, don’t be shy, look them in the eye and say no thank you if you’re not interested. This seems to be appreciated and you will be left alone. Follow the advice of your hotel staff and tour guides that know the city, what’s safe and what’s not, and above all have fun. What an amazing time and place!

The Grand Canyon is a must see. No words or pictures can ever capture the vastness of this natural wonder. The driver was very knowledgeable and helped make the day one we will never forget. The only negative comment I would make is I am glad we did not pay for the Skywalk. The views are equally spectacular from the Canyon edge.

The bus trip was nicely organized and our driver Kathy was a non-stop fountain of information about Nevada and Arizona. We even saw a coyote and a flock of big-horn sheep that she spotted for us. Thanks, Kathy! The Canyon is an incredible sight. I felt that the Indian tribe has done a fabulous job of providing a clean and natural experience for all of the hordes of tourists but I also felt that they weren't thrilled about having to do it. Translation: the Hualapai seemed unfriendly and uncomfortable having to deal with mobs of people invading their place. The dancers were 4 old women shuffling their feet in one spot and refusing eye contact with their guests. I suppose not all of them voted for opening their land and building that Skywalk. All-in-all it was a memorable experience finding myself literally on the edge of the 4000 ft. drop-off with views forever. Mind your kids very carefully, folks!! Falling into the Canyon is definitely a one-way trip!

We had a wonderful trip to the Grand Canyon and Skywalk. Our guide and driver was Mike. he was a great driver, personable, entertaining and helpful. I would definitely recommend this trip!

The Grand Canyon is an awe inspiring spectactular not to be missed by anyone travelling to Vegas. My previous trip to the Grand Canyon was just before the Skywalk was opened (literally the week before) so I was looking forward to going this time, I was disappointed that you are not allowed to take cameras on the skywalk and the photographers that were on hand took too many pictures of each group so therefore we didn't wait to get photos as it was very hot and there was no shade. However everything else about the tour was fabulous and our tour guide Jeremy was wonderful.

We had a great day at The Grand Canyon with the highlight being the Skywalk. Our driver/guide was polite and great fun, but most important, he was on time - which was more than could be said for 5 of our the guests on our bus!!! We can totally reccomend this trip for the best way to see the Skywalk. We were given all the necessary information and all arrangements were spot-on. We would not hesitate to use Viator again.

On hols from the UK, we had a great day out visiting the the 'Grand Canyon' and the Skywalk. Though our bus journey was long, our driver 'Mike' was very funny and entertaining making this trip one of the best i've had in a long time. Thank you 'Viator'

It was just amazing from start to finish.I would highly recommend this trip being collected by limo straight to the helicopter pad grand canyon amazing and when we arrived to the grand canyon we were transfered by private coach to do the skywalk , we had our own guide and could skip the queues and brought straight to the sky walk. just amazing

If I could give this more than five stars I would. Next time we'll do a private trip out here because while this is a long day you spend a lot of time being processed to get on the trip. We did the full package - helicopter is incredible I have never seen anything so breathtaking, boat trip is brilliant, guide was fantastic, told us lots of things and took pictures with our cameras! Skywalk is brilliant - a must. We also bought the photos from the skywalk - very expensive but fab! The Grand Canyon is such an incredible place and everything about this tour helped to make it so special and the highlight of my trip. The guide on the bus was full of fascinating knowledge. This was really really brilliant!

Doing what: Ultimate Grand Canyon 4-in-1 Helicopter Tour

This was an expensive tour, but in my view, well worth the money. Flying to the Grand Canyon was spectacular, and nothing will beat flying down into the Canyon itself. Our pilot, Dave, was pleasant and informative. The helicopter had six people and was a bit crowded...the tall ones want to be in the front or behind the pilot. The only downfall was having to bus around the Hualapai Nation's Reserve, which I understand and respect, but felt it ate up a bit of time on the bus. The Skywalk was closed the day we were there due to bad weather, so we saved our tickets for another time. It was a bit disappointing, but not the end of the world. In fact, I might actually be inclined to skip that part if I were ever doing this again, as the views from the rim are spectacular in and of themselves. The lunch was ok, but nothing great. The boat trip was fun...almost too short! The time we saved flying to the canyon allowed us to enjoy the views for quite a while and return back to Vegas feeling fresh, not exhausted. And seeing it all from the air....including the Hoover Dam and the LV Strip...was really something. No regrets at all. I would tell anyone who can afford it to take this trip!
