Best. Birthday. Ever. The views, the excitement of being in a helicopter…it was all so much to take in. I had never been inside of a helicopter (so much less scary than I’d imagined!) and I’d never been to the Grand Canyon (so much bigger than I’d imagined!), so this was a trip full of firsts. Our pilot was very nice, knew what she was doing, and made sure everyone was safe and comfortable. On the way there, we saw lots of Lake Mead, and our pilot even did a circle around the Hoover Dam so everyone got a chance for great pictures. The music in the helicopter was a great playlist, and I was also really surprised at how tasty the lunch was. When I read “champagne picnic”, I wasn’t expecting the delicious deli sandwiches that came with it! It was so neat to see the strip on the way back too. I was totally pleased with the entire experience. My husband’s set his bar REALLY high for next year’s birthday!
The All American was everything I’d hoped for and honestly, more. The staff is wonderfully professional, and you really got the sense that safety was key. Because of that, when we first took off from the heliport, I could focus more on the exhilaration and less on the fear of flying! The trip to the Grand Canyon was accompanied by nonstop tunes (some of them witty to the timing of the landscape) and live commentary from our pilot. We all had microphones as well if we ever wanted to ask anything. Every seat had great views, and on the way back we were rotated so everyone got the chance to see something new. I’ll be honest, I almost preferred the windows in the rear of the helicopter! The stop inside of the canyon was a gorgeous view, and we enjoyed a surprisingly delicious lunch, accompanied with champagne, soft drinks, and lots of time for photos and questions. Then, on the flight back, we got some fantastic views over the strip, catching a once in a lifetime view of our hotel from above. I was sad to get out but I had SUCH a great time. It was a birthday present for my wife, but I’d say I made out pretty well too.
We had an unforgettable trip to the Grand Canyon. Our pilot John was brilliant, very knowleable and we felt safe at all times during the trip. The whole experience ran smoothly from our Limousine pick up to the final fly over Las Vegas on the way back. Everyone was friendly, professional and we would recommend this trip to anyone wanting an amazing experience. The champagne breakfast made it very special.
Excellent trip from the timely arrival of the limo to the wonderful flight to the Grand Canyon. Despite windy conditions our trip was exciting and informative. I would highly recommend this to anyone wishing to visit the Grand Canyon by helicopter
Fabulous trip. . . . .must do when in Vegas!
Sunset Grand Canyon trip was wonderful and icing in the cake is final few minutes of return trip over Vegas strip. . . .get your video ready.
Only downside was a little rushed at the canyon because we were delayed in leaving and choppers must be off reservation before sundown.
However this was my only minor flaw in what was a wonderful evening.
Very worth it! The Grand Canyon is impressive and specially from a helicopter. Thrtour is very well organized.
I enjoyed the experience! What a great way to see the Grand Canyon and enjoy a fun helicopter ride to and from Las Vegas!
I was impressed by the Maverick staff Staphany and Bruce ,they were very friendly and professional. The tour was well-organised from hotel pick-up to airplane check in and to ground tour inside the grand canyon national park. The air base of maverick is only 20 min from las vegas and the air travel was only 40min one way, which really time-effective. And we had about 1 hour in Mather Point and 45 min in Angel Lodge. I would highly recommand this tour and I'm sure you will have a wonderful experience with maverick
This was an amazing trip that my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed! Our pilot was so friendly and very informative and we even got picked up from our hotel in a black stretch limo! Sundance helicopters were very proffessional and were the only company landing on this particular landing site at the Grand Canyon so it wasnt full of tourists - perfect!!! Definately worth the money and would also reccommend Viator!!!!!
Best experience ever! Two check on my bucket list : Flying in an helicopter and seeing the Grand Canyon! My boyfriend and I loved every minute of it! our pilot, Colby was young, dynamic and professionnal. Wish we could have him and his helicopter to ourself for the hole day!!! Would recommende this experience to everyone.... the only thing is that the time on the ground in the Canyon was way too short.... should be at least 15 minutes-30 minutes more... everybody wanted to stay a little longer to be able to capture as much as possible this magnificient place... first time in an helicopter.... not the last.... it's so peacefull up there.... especially with the desert at your feet. (sorry for my poor english).
A great way to see the Grand Canyon. Value for money. Our pilot Chuck was fantastic keep us amused all through the flight, gave us plenty of information. Would recommend tour to others .
As someone who was terrified at the prospect of flying in a helicopter, I wasn't too keen on going but had booked the tour for my husbands 40th birthday.
After getting over the initial butterflies and used to the movement of the helicopter, I got totally absorbed in the scenery and excellent music and commentary played through the headphones - therefore it turned out to be much less scary than I thought it would be, to the point that I actually enjoyed the flying experience (and I am terrified of heights!).
The biggest incentive is, of course, flying into the Grand Canyon and if you are going to do it I would recommend the sunset tour. The light in the canyon is stunning as the sun sets and flying back to Vegas with a red sky in front of you is jaw-droppingly beautiful; then getting to see Vegas Strip in the dark with all the lights on is the perfect end to the flight.
When I booked this, I thought it expensive. When you go on the tour you realise it is worth every penny - you are well looked after by the staff at the centre and our pilot was excellent. The Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon exceeded expectations, as did the flight back.
Two pieces of advice. 1. Take a camera and video camera as they both capture different aspects of the flight, plus it is hard to photograph the strip at night where a video camera captures it perfectly. 2. Make sure you know what settings to have your camera on and practice before you go. We captured some amazing shots using the 'sunset' setting in the canyon but also switched to other settings for a different perspective.
Highly recommended service and experience, even for someone scared of flying.
Amazing! One of the highlights of my trip to Vegas. Really glad I decided to go on this tour.
Where time is at a premium, this is pretty much the perfect way to see the Grand Canyon, the cool sights on the way there, and the Vegas strip on the way back.
Will definitely go again next time I'm in Vegas.
PLUS: Breathtaking experience ! We were pleased by the company (Sundance) and the tour. The grand canyon by helicopter is a must !
CON: The limo driver was unpleasant and driving too fast in the worst road he found, not so great... Plus we were WAY too early to the airport, you can save one hour of sleep by coming by car.
