5 Star gave us a first-class ride from our hotel to the airport, where Mischa (our pilot) was amazing! Her personality just shined as we headed to the helicopter for an absolutely amazing ride past Hoover Dam and into the Grand Canyon. There was no wind, so she gave us a bird's eye view of everything. The helicopter ride could not have been better! Mischa was very informative about the area as well. We then rode in luxury again to our rafting trip. Leslie was our tour guide for the rafting trip and she was very informative as well and an amazing boat operator. There was a little mix-up on our transportation back to the hotel, but a wonderful gentleman from 5 Star gave us a ride back. Come to find out...he was the owner! Thank you all for a great day!!!

Fun day out but a very long day so be very prepared. 4am pick-up time a little painful when on vacation, perhaps an overnight stay should be considered.

Great trip. Guides were knowledgeable and informative. Our guide, Brian, also had a great way with words and kept us entertained. This trip was slightly let down by the quality of the supplied packed lunch, but otherwise difficult to fault.

Helicopter tour was amazing thanks to 5 star grand canyon helicopter tours. The pilot was just super friendly and a really cool person. The raft ride was also awesome, but it would have been nice to be in a smaller raft and maybe a shorter ride.

One word; Incredible!!
We booked this trip two months in advance and weren’t sure what to expect with the combination of helicopter and boat- we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience!
We were greeted by a lovely guy who picked us up from our hotel in a new mini bus and kept us entertained on the short trip to the small airport to board our helicopter. We were greeted and offered drinks and refreshments in a very nice building before meeting our wonderful lady pilot! She was confident, fun, engaging and interesting and made our flight (just over an hour- longer than expected) so worthwhile! The views were incredible- a must see- and we thoroughly enjoyed flying through the Grand Canyon and over the rivers surrounding it.
We were then picked up again by our lovely driver and taken to another hotel where we would be transported to pick up our boat down via an old fashioned El Dorado ranch. Once again, we had a lovely informative driver and a great look around this old ranch before being met by another guy to take us out on the water. Again- an incredible experience!! Blue sky, peaceful and calm undisturbed water, great lunch, interesting stories and little stops along the way.
We had the most perfect day and would repeat it again, or recommend it to others, in a heartbeat!!

First of all the trip was as described and was fun!! We did have a good time. Pick up was late but all worked out. Guide knowledgable, water really really really calm and cold!
Why i only rated it with 3 stars is because its really just a floating trip and not a rafting trip. There is no rappid, not even one. If the boat wouldnt have an engine we wouldnt made it to the end on time;-) We did see some wildlife, some birds and a lot of mountain sheep, that was cool, we saw some mountian formations and some hot springs. Had lunch at a little beach. Some people went in the water, i did too, it was really freeezing and since i am from Germany and know how freezing ocean water feels like, trust me, it was cold!
Most of the people on our raft were older, i still young and even though i enjoyed the trip, i wouldnt do it again. I would prefer something more exciting with at least some rappids!

Our pick up at our hotel was prompt and we were soon on our way to the Colorado River. Our guide for the trip was Dennis who was such a nice guy and what he didnt know about the river/dam/grand canyon wasnt worth knowing! after a brief and amusing safety talk we were on our way down the Colorado. the raft was big,safe and pretty comfortable and is in no way dangerous so its ideal for kids and older people. If you sit at the front of the raft theres a good chance youll get wet...and as it was very sunny (85f) we sat right there and although we did get soaked it was refreshing and an hour later we were dry!! We had our packed lunch at a little beach on the river,caught some sun (there is virtually no shade on this tour) and paddled in the very cold water! a great tour and a great guide too.

Had a great time, beautiful views, great weather. It was such a relaxing day and a great way to see a little of the Hoover Dam if you don't want to do a full day tour. You have about 30 minutes for lunch where you stop and can just sit and relax or go for a swim or paddle. Keep an eye out for the mountain sheep too! Tour guide was great, very funny and knowledgable making little stops through the canyon to tell us stories.

My wife and myself liked the trip very much. From the time the Viator driver picked us up at our hotel to the return, the staff were very professional and attentive. The operator of our raft was very knowledgable and also seemed to care about the enviroment based and the individuals that were on his raft. Black Canyon was my wife's and my fourth excursion (three were in Rome) with Viator and we highly recommend them. It should be noted, we will be taking another tour with them in November.

This tour was recommended to us by friends and we had a fabulous time. We are telling everyone about our experience and encouraging them to check it out. We had never been to the grand canyon and we are convinced that this trip is the best possible way to experience it. Donna and Al (MN)

Our group of six truly enjoyed the day. Our Pilot was a wealth of knowledge and gave us a great history lesson about Hoover Dam's contruction and as we moved down the river pointing out the various points of interest. Most exciting was the herd of Big Horn Sheep as many as eleven outstanding. Our Pilot also has a great sense of humor when passing out the towels to help us stay cool. One suggestion is regarding the choice of food for the day. My wife is alergic to Turkey and makes her very ill. Maybe another selection or at least the opportunity to ask for sometihing other than turkey. Overall outstanding day would recommend it to others.

Good tour, however the 4 hours we spent in the raft was in the rain. Tour guide made the best of the situation. Would have been an exceptional trip if it was not raining.
