Perfect and easy access from our ship. The stop was right outside of the terminal. Great way to see the city.
The tour was good and most of the ear phone ports on the back of the seats worked. The pickup point, a bus stop, we chose to use was 200 yards away from the correct one. Fortunately the driver stopped for us. The documentation did not make it clear where in the road the bus stopped. It would have been nice if at certain photographic viewpoints points the bus could have stopped to allow passengers a quick photo from a stationary bus. It did stop once. We must say that the drivers on the red and blue route were VERY helpful.
We went on the Hop-On Hop Bus bus tour as soon as we arrived, and it was a great way to get the lay of the land. We took both the Red and Blue routes. If you can only do one, I recommend the Red Route, and get off at the Belem Tower for half an hour.
For those who would like to sample the places to see, this is the way to go. It provides the necessary exposure to local culture including shopping at El Corte Ingles, our favorite market as per a Madrid, Spain trip. The hop-on/hop-off provided the flexibility of stopping to eat where the locals eat.
The bus came right to the port and therefore as very convenient. There are two routes, red and blue routes, and they interchange in at least a couple of places. The seats are the most comfortable that I've experienced on 'Hop-on--Hop-off' buses, compared to Paris, New York, Barcelona and London. Not as much to see, maybe as those cities, but achieved in comfort! The commentary was not constant(possibly a good thing!), but interspersed with slightly morbid 'Fado' singing--personally I'd have liked more information and no music! Overal, though , a good experience.
Wish I could gove zero, says 30 min between stops, more like an hour. Had to ask all the other buses stopping if they were ours because they were so few and far between. Guy was RUDE, then stopped for a 25 min cigarette break to chat with some ladies on the sidewalk, we had to ask him when we would be back on tour. The seats were crappy and had to move to three seats to find a recording that worked. Sometimes you get what you pay for. This one was not worth 1/2 price.
Needs updating. Less Fado music and MORE about the marvelous history of Lisboa. There's so much they need to place in their scripts - it's a shame.
There are two routes. The red route does the old Lisbon loop and the blue route does the newer neighborhoods of Lisbon. Unless you want to go to the Aquarium, the blue route didn't seem worthwhile. The red route goes by a lot of the sights in the sightseeing book - monument to the explorers etc. However there is a lot of time there is no commentary and the same Portuguese song is played over and over and over again! Neither route gets close to the cathedral or castle, so if you are interested in those sights, you will still have some uphill walking to do.
Excellent overall but the only thing I would suggest is to extend the hour buses run as sometimes is hard to see thing that happen later. Will use again for sure elsewhere.
Tour was great, ticket lasted for 48hours so were able to do the red line one day and the blue line the next. With the two of them we saw everything we needed to see in Lisbon.
Very good as it covers most of the Lisbon attractions, very recommendable when the weather is sunny.
