First I have to gripe about other Viator reviewers: Please write more than just "it was excellent" as this tells me
nothing about the tour. Please please please write details, be more descriptive for heavens sake. ***This was a nice orientation of Lisbon. I think it toured around letting you see some of the major monuments, can't exactly remember since I did a tour everyday. Definitely took us to some coach museum, I loved that it took us to Belem to see both the tower and the exploration monument (my two favorite things but didn't have enough time for each) but was still a surprise as I did not know we were headed there. I paid 5 euro for the tower and sprinted up all the way to top and took some pictures really quick and then ran back down to make the bus. For the monument there is a huge globe in front but too many bozos blocking u from taking a clean shot. Also took you to some huge church where Vasco Da Gama is buried. Then took you to some old art of town that was awesome cuz u walk up this cobbled stone road and see tons of restaurants, some are Fado, and end up in a nice souvenir shop that sells tons of different things I wanted to buy it all, plus you get to taste some wine there and buy bottles if you like. The only reason I didn't buy the wine is because I knew I was being dropped off in the city not at my hotel. The tour guide spoke maybe 4-5 languages, too many different languages were accommodated, throw out the italians haha.
The Lisbon 48hr Super Saver Ticket was used to the full. The weather was not too good during our stay and the Ticket was our lifesaver. We sampled the Tagus Tour, and Olisipo Tour by Open Air Bus, Hills Tour by Tram. We also used the ticket for the local Buses and Trams. the lift at the Elevador St Justa. Brilliant and very cost effective way to see Lisbon whatever the weather.
tough to figure some of the stop info. etc.. should have a email contact for these type of deals in foreign countries, because international cell service for everyone is unlikely
This was the most disappointing excursion of the entire trip. The tour, sold as "in English" certainly was...and in Spanish...and in Portugese...and in German. Nothing against multi-lingual tours, but you get rushed, very limited info in each language and that's not how it was sold. The guide was on her cell phone with a friend, laughing, for part of the tour and ran ahead of the group at every stop. At one stop she passed out ear pieces and receivers, only to later announce she didn't have her microphone with her, so we schlepped them for nothing. As usual, it depends on the tour guide, and this one was abysmal.
Great way to see Lisbon, down town, the old areas and the new as well as suburbs and everyday Lisbon. The only annoying thing was the Fado music all the time on the commentary. We were going to visit a Fado club but were so fed up with listening to the same old songs that we couldn't face it at night. A big put off!
Booking procedures should have let us know that there was three different companies operating the tours. While trying to determine which bus we were suppose to be on we missed our bus causing us to have to wait 30 minutes for the next one. 30 minutes was significantly longer than we experienced on other tours like this one. There was no announcement indicating the number of each stop along the tour. Would not recommend this tour to another person.
The tour is good: very informative and interesting. Exellent guide. Comfortable bus.
Unfortunatly, a lot of miscommunication. I was told that they would pick me up at 2:00p.m. from my hotel, but when I called them at the time I was told that they don't pick up from this hotel and Joana said she never told me about pick up. Nice, is'n it?
It is better to book this tour directly from the operator, not through two middlemen.
Sorry, Viator.
Not impressed. The trip consisted of a coach full of different nationalities. It said English guide. The English came third after the Portuguese and German. The poor French had to wait a long time. OK for getting your bearings around the city.
absolutely excellent. We did 4 tours and also used the ordinary trams. Excellent value would well recommend this ticket to all travellers to Lison.
The coaches were on time and arrived at the venues stated. The only down side for me was the commentary it was very sparse with little detail and the majority of the time was spent listening to music More information would have made it more interesting.
Interesting overview of Lisbon. My favorite site was the Carriage Museum. Wish we could of had a little more time there. Overall good tour.
We were very pleased with the company and the organized tour. The routes were very interesting and the highlight was that with the same ticket you could use up the regular city/public buses within your purchased ticket validation:)
I did the afternoon tour, and really enjoyed it. I was a bit sceptical before starting the tour as I am not the type of person to go on a coach tour, but decided to give it a try, and I am glad I did! We saw some of the main landmarks in Lisbon in half a day, and also went in some of them and got the guided tour of the interior. The guide was very knowledgeable and made it very interesting. The coach was very comfortable. On the whole a very worthwhile tour. They even pick you up from your hotel without extra cost providing you contact them and arrange this.
