Lisbon has a long and proud maritime history. This museum focuses on that long naval history with model ships, nautical instruments and uniforms. Among the armadas of model boats, this museum has gems such as Vasco da Gama's portable wooden altar and the rich, polished private quarters of the 1900 UK-built royal yacht Amélia. There are also ornate royal barges, the biggest a 1780 neo-Viking number.

On weekends a children's museum offers brightly colored creative activities.

It is OK once it is figured out. There are 4 different hop on companies in Lisbon...this is for the Yellow Bus...who also owns the local buses and trolleys. The other 3 are picked up at Marque Pombol; Yellow Bus is at Rossio. Once you get a hang of the system...it is great...goes everywhere all the time. Your 48 hour pass also allows you free access to all city buses, trams and trolleys.

This is the best way to see Lisbon!!! I love Hop on Hop off tours and this one is great! It gives you an over view of the city and then you can decide where to spend your time. I recommend riding it all around the city first, making notes where you want to get off. Then after completing a full ride around the city get back on the bus and have it take you to the stops you want to get off and spend time in. Great use of time and great way to get around the city. Make sure you go to a Fado show in Lisbon!!! Obrigado (thank you) for reading :)
