First I have to gripe about other Viator reviewers: Please write more than just "it was excellent" as this tells me nothing about the tour. Please please please write details of what made it good and bad. Awesome day trip to Sintra. You ride up to the top of the mountain by bus and tour the palace which used to be a
monastary which u see in the architecture. Awesome views from different towers you climb. Then you go into town for some
free time where you can shop, taste some cafes, see the Old Palace, and have lunch inside a hotel. The lunch was fabulous
with breath taking views. Another stop was in a town that had a port and small beach, very scenic. The drive en route and
back had lots of beautiful mountainous and beach scenery. Another stop was at sort of the western most part of Portugal,
there was some sort of statue, awesome views cuz ur on top of cliffs and recommend buying the certificate they sell in
gift shop with envelope maybe 10euro. Guide spoke Portugese, Spanish and English, I tipped her.

An enjoyable tour taking in Sintra Palace and a good helping of Portuguese countryside and coast line.
This was a great tour for three reasons: 1) small group consisting of at least 8 people (including the tour guide who happens to be the driver also; 2) the price is a bargain. I very much enjoyed Sintra, Caiscais and Nazare -- beautiful places; 3) this was an awesome tour with knowledgeable tour guides.
Great trip. Lisbon sightseeing was an excellent overview to help determine where you would like to spend more time. Sintra and Estoril drive excellent.
I booked this tour for myself and a friend visiting from the US. How disappointed we were. The morning tour was in 3 languages, and ended rather abruptley at 12:30pm, when we were left for two hours before joining a new tour with new guide and driver. After a roundabout drive we finally arrived in Sintra before Cascais, Estoril, Cabo as stated in the Itinerary. We went to a different palace as was stated which was a disappointment, and then we were informed that we would be picked up at 4:45pm for the rest of the tour. The afternoon tour was in 4 languages, and we had to listen very carefully to catch the short English version. As we had to be back at our hotel for a special dinner, we had to incur the cost of 35 Euros to take a taxi back to Lisbon, as no way would we have been back between 5-6pm as again stated in the itinerary. The whole day was very badly disorganised, and it should be made very clear that the tour is in two parts. We would have much preferred the whole day Sintra tour had we known. Having taken many city tours in other countries this is the first one I have not enjoyed.
My wife and I greatly enjoyed the day trip to Sintra. Pena Castle is awesome, and not to be missed. The drive was not too long, our guide was very knowledgeable, lunch was pleasant, and we also enjoyed about an hour of personal time. We highly recommend it. One note, you must "reconfirm" tours with Viator in Lisbon the day before, and ask by phone where they will pick you up.
The Lisbon City tour was great and brought us through all the major attractions in the Belem district. The afternoon was absolutely unforgetable! Sintra is gorgeous! And our guide was very loveable!
This is an excellent day trip from Lisbon, although it does not match the Viator description. You start at Pena Palace, a fascinating combination of 16th-century monastery and 19-century palace, and continue to Sintra for an excellent lunch, with time to tour Sintra Palace on your own.
The drive back along the coast is gorgeous, even in November, with a couple of short sightseeing stops, most notably at Cabo da Roca, westernmost point in Europe.
I would definitely recommend this trip.
The rainy and foggy day made this tour not so enjoyable but anyway it was possible to observe the beauties of Sintra pictouresque downtown including the 1 Euro tasting of gingihas, for which some shops while provide a detailed explanation of the wide variety of port wines and jinjihas.
Morning tour was okay. They combined us with local tourist. The guide went to more detail commentary in Portuguese than English. The tour ended at 12:30 so there were 2 hours break for me to return to the pickup point at Marquees Pombal. Afternoon Sintra Tour did not go to Pena Castle as advertised, instead we went to Royal Castle/national castle which was inferior in comparison to the architecture at Pena and definitely what I wasn't signing up for. The guide Dora was however better than the morning one as she was more articulate and engaging and spent time in explaining in English. There are definitely room for improvement.
Was a good experience. But we should have got more time at Cabo Da Roca (where we only got 20 mins) as compared to Sintra (where we got more than 90 minutes).
Tour is good but to fast, since we do Lisbon (Including Belem) in the morning and then Sintra in the afternoon. I would have liked more time with the Lisbon city tour to visit more monuments.. Also, Viator is offering the tour in French or in English. I chose french but it is not available in french. To bad because it put down my expectations and my pleasure.
The trip itself and guide were quite good. The tour bus is excellent: mosern and roomy (but no rest room). I would suggest less time for lunch in Sintra and perhaps adding another site to tour, or more time in Cais-Cais or Estoril (we were given only 15 minutes in the former and none in the latter). The reason I gave this only 4 stars and not 5 is that the organization has absolutely no customer service available on Sundays (not even the "Emergency phone number" answers on Sunday) -- and we needed vital info on Sunday for our Monday trip. A professional organization must provide SOME access on Sundays as well!
