Windsor Castle was fascinating, with an incredible amount of history and interesting things to see. Buckingham Palace was fortunately open when I was in London, and it was truly amazing. We had access to many of the state rooms and saw the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress on display. I would thoroughly recommend this tour.
This was an excellent tour to do when time is limited. The tour guide was informative and the open top Harrods Bus was great. It was timed to perfection starting with the tower of London tour, the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace and then completing with the Harrods High Tea. All in all an excellent experience!
Just a magnificent day. Would look at visiting Buckingham Palace without paying this company as they only dropped us at the door, met by the guide who promptly disappeared after giving the tickets to the reception desk
I would highly recommend this tour if you are having a short stay in London as this tour covers so much. We had read mixed reviews prior to booking but we said we'd take a chance and were glad that we did. They picked us up on time from our hotel and brought us to Victoria station where we were introduced to our guide for the day. Our guide Alan especially made this trip enjoyable for us as he had a very in depth knowledge of London and he was also very entertaining. Also our bus driver, Malcolm, was very friendly and helpful. One piece of advice I would give is to try and do this tour on any day other than a Sunday as a lot of places are closed. We began the tour by visiting Westminster Abbey but couldn't go inside due to it being a Sunday, we were then brought to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben on the hour so we could hear the chimes which was a nice touch. We then had a guided tour of the Tower of London followed by the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. However, it was very busy due to it being a Sunday so we were unable to get down to the front of the palace so we just seen them marching along the road, we then had a cruise along the Thames followed by lunch. Then it was off to St Paul's but again we were unable to go inside due to service. We opted for a flight on the London Eye at the end, it began raining which restricted our view. Overall really enjoyed it but try and do it during the week if possible!
Very good tour, unfortunately changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace didn't take place that day (only every second day in "winter" time) but the guide showed us a good spot to see it next day.
WOW! Take advantage of this excursion if you are traveling in the summer time. The only time the public can view these elaborate residences of the Queen is when she is gone for 2 months in the summer time. It would have been nice to have 60 to 90 minutes more at Windsor Castle to view the Chapel and some other buildings because Buckingham Palace was at your leisure and the end of the tour. Both establishments are just so grand and elaborate that you can't help but almost feel the wealth and feel like royalty yourself as you tour the ballrooms, staircases, china exhibits, costumes of her Majesty, jewels, art, and state rooms. Skipping the lines was a great feature of this tour as well.
This was the perfect combination for a day trip. It was my first time in London and Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace were both on my "must see" list so I was happy to be able to see them both on the same day. We had ample time at both places and never felt rushed. The only suggestion I would have is to let your tourists know that they will have time to get lunch after Windsor, back in London, before the Buckingham Palace tour. We weren't aware of this so we took time to have an early lunch in Windsor before heading back to London. If we had known there would be time for lunch later, we would have waited and spent additional time in Windsor. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Be sure to allow lots of time for shopping here.
It was great to get into the Tower of London and be personally greeted and provided an introduction to the Towers. Since it was an even day, there was no changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, therefore we were able to spend more time at the Tower of London and see the current Henry VIII exhibit. Our guide was excellent.
Great tour, although we could have used more time at Windsor...so much to see and so little time. With the tour ending at Buckingham Palace, we had lots of time to browse. All in all, great value.
I was glad to be with a tour group when we got to Buckingham Palace. It made it all so much easier upon entry.
A great tour to do on arrival to orientate yourself with the city and help you to decide what you want to revisit. All the major sites were covered. Our tour guide was charming, knowledgeable, and could be clearly heard and understood. Our tour fell on a day when they were not doing the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace but everything else was perfect. The boat ride turned out to be quite informative to our pleasant surprise. There was enough time allotted to see the White Tower and St. Pauls Cathedral and it's Whispering Wall. We elected not to eat lunch with the group and went to visit Trafalgar Square nearby instead. It was a long day but you were on and off the bus enough so that it was not just a boring ride though London. The tea and scones at Harrods at the end of the tour was the perfect touch. We did other tours of Buckingham Palace and the London Eye. It was a splendid combination.
This tour was amazing! The guide was excellent and very informative. If you want an overall tour that gives you the real variety that London has to offer, this is the tour to do! The climb to the Whispering Gallery in St. Paul's is not for the faint of heart but was an amazing experience for me to share with my 13 year old son. Optional lunch was very good and a great pub choice for a mixed group. Perfect location to view the Guard Change at Buckingham Palace. The tour through the Tower of London Crown Jewels takes place before the Tower is open to the general public - no crowds. Thames Cruise was great!
Great tour! Our tour guide and bus driver were friendly, informative and fun. There were only about 12 of us on the tour so that made things much better, as well. We were the very first people at the Tower of London and so had it virtually to ourselves for a little while. Don't rely on this tour to see the Changing of the Guard though. Even though we got to Buckingham Palace before the official ceremony start time, you really have to show up 1 hour 30 minutes in advance if you want a decent vantage point. Otherwise, every aspect of the tour was a lot of fun and very interesting. A great way to see lots of London in one day.
