Lovely tour, the castle has a beautiful setting, the town in Canterbury is very nice and Dover was a nice stop, it was foggy the day we went but it was nice to walk on the "rocky beach".
This was an excellent day trip from London! Our guide gave us a running history of London as we made our way out of town and was very knowledgable about every place we visited. We had plenty of time to explore Leeds Castle (the private tour was great!) and the grounds. Lunch in Dover near the port was tasty and we had plenty of time in Canterbury to visit the cathedral, shops, etc. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone wanting to get see a few sites away from the hustle and bustle of London!
We had an awesome time! The length of the tour was pretty long, so you get very tired. We loved Leeds Castle, Canterbury, and Dover. We didn't get to spend much time in Greenwich, though. Overall it was an excellent tour. We were given enough time at the places other than Greenwich to do the tour, and then be able to do your own thing as well which was nice. Our guide, Barry, was very knowledgeable and kept you entertained throughout the bus rides. The boat tour was also quite nice and fun!
Leeds castle was great and easy to understand why it is rated the prettiest castle in England.Lunch at Dover was included and enjoyed the "Spitfire" beer (extra cost but reasonable). Canterbury cathedral was maginificent. Everything was closed by the time we arrived in Greenwich so no value in going there other than to catch the boat back down the river to London. Mark the guide was excellent
Great day trip - weather was wet and miserable but venues great. A little extra time through the Leeds Castle would have been better. Dover - more time needed here if weather nicer. We did not realise we had to make our own way back to the hotel after the tour which was a little disconcerting.
A great deal of interesting history from the guide. Leeds and Canterbury Cathedral were lovely. Greenwich rushed. Dover was a lunch stop by the port.
On the whole, we enjoyed the coach tour. Our guide, Paul, was great and friendly, as was our driver, Malcolm. Canterbury was our favorite part. We were given time to walk around and have lunch. The cathedral was absolutely stunning. Leeds Castle was an okay visit. Our tour guide for that portion was quite dull so we were less interested. Our main criticism of the itinerary is regarding the Cliffs of Dover portion. We were hoping to get a better view/get closer than standing on the beach a few miles away taking in the cliffs amidst the highway and construction. Greenwich was nice but very brief. The cruise back is a nice touch.
Tour guide Paul was top notch. So was the driver. Very friendly and knowledgeable. So glad I booked the tour. They both went out of their way to make sure we saw all the pertinent things, especially the Battle of Britain Memorial and Dover and the Canterbury Cathedral. Great, great tour. Definitely 5 stars!!!!!!
The trip itself was wonderful enough, but Sheila, our guide, made it even better. She was friendly and know so much. Even on our way home, she kept giving information. My mother and me are both visually handicapped and Sheila helpt us, without overdoing it. She was well organized and paid attention to everyone. The trip itself was wonderful. Wanted more time in Dover, but that is the only minor point. The trip was relaxing. Enough time to view the Castle and the Cathedral. The driver was great as well. Would certainly book via Viator / Evan Evan Tours again. Thanks all!!
This was a great tour- Leeds is beautiful and Canterbury is awesome and historic. Dover wasn't as great as previously thought because we didn't have as much time and could not go up to the castle, only down by the water. The tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful, but the dropoffs were all in East London (while most of the tourists were staying in West London). This is a good day tour.
I thoroughly enjoyed my tour. Unfortunately, the weather was atrocious, but our guide, Trevor, was knowledgeable and very entertaining. I would recommend this tour as a little out of the ordinary for overseas visitors.
Tour was not at all intresting........
Only good thing about the tour was the tour guide.... Time at Dover should be increased...
